They both still might. They're only 21, but they're used to being able to overpower the opposition. Now they have to learn to be smart, but both could play first grade straight away and match up physically. That is what holds most youngsters back - the lack of physical ability. All Matterson and Goodall need to do is learn how to play rugby league against adults.

Daniel Alvaro has been named 18th man for NSW Residents.

Brett Cook is assistant coach.

Is Daniel eligible for selection? I would have sworn they changed selection criteria to mimic that of actual Stage of Origin eligibility?

I give up. Alvaro's Jnr club was Mittagong, yet he played for QLD U18's.

Same goes with Falou. His Jnr club is Minto, yet he's also a dirty QLDer.

You sum it up well

How did toutai go Forty20? I reckon he would be an alternative too Falou who needs some more time to work on his game.

As much has been said to me by an Eels official. The club believes that Goodall is using his power game too much atm but that won't cut it in first grade and they want him using his feet more before the line and getting the evasiveness into his game.

I thought he was good. Always runs hard and wasn't too much of a defensive liability. He showed some good feet before the line and made 1 really good run from memory where he had very light feet and made it past 2-3 defenders.

I too believe he could come into first grade, just not sure on his positioning for wing. I believe he is a centre.

So Matterson is dumped to RM cup but Sef week after week is picked to stink up first grade??? Don't tell me Matto has a poor attitude as well??? Sef's must be the best attitude of all time............

Maybe he has something the coach does not want anyone to find out about.
Either that or something is going on behind the sheds.

Well im guessing he would take Morgan in pecking order if get a good run.
I wonder how crooks would go on wing in first grade. The times ive seen him in wenty he looks smart and good hands.Maybe not powerfull but defense wise his positioning should be an upgrade on falou.

Kelly excelled in NSW Cup last year, and no surprise that he had a good game today without having to babysit Matterson. It's a lot easier when a half only has to worry about his side of the field.

Kelly is smart and skilled. His problem is he is too small and slow for first grade. That made him try too hard in his NRL opportunities, and behind a beaten pack that gave him no chance to play to his strengths.

He's a decent backup and absolutely worth having on a second tier contract. Whether he re-signs or not depends on whatever interest he receives from elsewhere.

It's sad witnessing your accelerated decline into nyctophobia.

I see Shane Shackleton and Kris Keating played Ron Massey on the W/E for Guildford and C'matta. Talk about fall from grace.

Yeah Shackleton has been playing for Guilford since the start of the year. Are yo sure it was Keating who played for Cabramatta? He's been playing NSW cup for the Dragons.

It is based on where you played you first Senior Football. Izzy played for Qld too.
