And Wenty pay for the unforced error. Tigers make a half break down their left as Morgan fails to bring down his opposite which gives Drinkwater enough time to slot the field goal on the next tackle.

The kick off from Kelly fails to go the 10m and with less then 2min on the clock, Wenty are definitely up against it...

Don't we really have anyone better than Kelly, can't believe how many basic errors he commits week after week

Drinkwater has a second shot a FG on the last tackle with 40 sec on the clock. Hits the uprights from directly in front and has to race back to clean it up and then drive it into touch with Wenty closing in on him.

Wenty set the scrum with 22 seconds left.

Hits ups to Moeroa and Morgan before Kelly kicks for Goodall but kicks 5m behind him and that will do us today.

Wenty have squandered a twelve point lead and fall by one point to the Tigers.

Full Time

Wests Tigers 29 DEF Wenty 28

The sad thing is that today was easily one of Kelly's best efforts this year. I said it at the start of the game but IMO, Matterson was not the half to drop on form...

Didn't see any earlier comments Pou as I was out, and wasn't able to get to the game, my point is that he lacks defining moments in his game and always has. I don't see value in him when we know what he serves up every week, sorry if I offended your delicate senses with an opinion that's diferent to yours

By the way, I do t think Henry is crash hot, and ZDC is a hooker only, the best half in the club is either Doolan or Seve, and they are in junior reps. Have seen a fair bit of them this year, and at least they are promising. Don't wanr them put up to Wenty yet, anyway that's my view, Kelly is bog average, that's the bottom line

Kelly excelled in NSW Cup last year, and no surprise that he had a good game today without having to babysit Matterson. It's a lot easier when a half only has to worry about his side of the field.

Kelly is smart and skilled. His problem is he is too small and slow for first grade. That made him try too hard in his NRL opportunities, and behind a beaten pack that gave him no chance to play to his strengths.

He's a decent backup and absolutely worth having on a second tier contract. Whether he re-signs or not depends on whatever interest he receives from elsewhere.

He's got plenty of mates, but as we know, no club has 30 first graders on the books. A few clubs don't even have 17 of them.

if he excelled as much as you say he would have been picked up by another struggling club with no halves depth.

What's wrong with our struggling club with no halves depth? Or do you think Matterson is ready to backup in first grade because of his big arms?

Kelly is what he is, a second string half on 2nd tier coin... We can't really ask anymore than what we're currently getting from him
