BLM01, the first half was just like the start of the NRL match last night. Missed tackles, dropped ball and penalties. 6-22 at half time. The 2nd half was much more even with the Dragons having plenty of chances but handling or poor last tackle options letting them down. One last play option involved 3 or 4 passes all going behind the intended recipient. I didn't know whether to laugh or cry. Another ended with George Burgess putting a little bomb up and it going 5 metres backwards! Another Involved Max Feagai managing a 5cm grubbers. Seriously, what skills do they practise?Obviously getting well beaten today by the team 1 place above us.
I have not watched just the score update.
Anyone shed any light on why or is jut down to coaching again.?
No one put their hand up for NRL selection, I am sorry to report. Any positives? I thought Burgess looked fitter and was harder to stop than in his NRL and Cup games I have seen this year. But the way he moves other than with ball in hand makes me wonder about his recovery. Jackson Ford played long minutes at prop and never stopped trying in attack and defence and as Capt tried to keep the ref honest which has not seemed part of Dragons footy since Ben Hornby. Coric ran straight and hard. Jack Gosiewki ran a hole to score a try untouched. Billy Burns is bigger than I remember from TV last year. Tried hard without real impact
Tyrell Sloan went close to setting up a try with a break and pass and back up but his defence failed to stop 2 Souths tries. Strangely he swapped positions with Treigh Stewart 5 mins before half time and played out the game on the wing. Possm would be pleased to see him out up a nice bomb - seems to have more kicked Ng ability than Junior.
Late in the game Jack Boyling showed some pace off the mark almost setting up a try. I know nothing about him and couldn't quite work out his position lining up between Gosiewki and Feagai on the right.
