Full time we win 28 - 6

Kerr and Periera stand out.

Timm was good but needs to hit the line harder imo
Ford also good just needs to improve his defense
Sailor was ok nothing flash hut nothing wrong.
Masters has some goos skills, needs to pick thr right time to pass.
Saab is going to be a terrific player, nof yet but next year wuth a bit of filling ouf wow.
Lovodua seems too bulky for a hooker and too small for a forward, but did some good things.
Really impressed with the part-timers they really put in.
Maranta can think himself luckt hes playing and Runciman not much better although he was imjured a couple of times.

In saying all that rhe Warriors were woeful really, their try was on some good luck rather than good skill.

I really hope Ravalawa pulls something out of the box on Monday, as I'm baffled (other than wanting to see his family) why Periera was dropped in favour of him.

Sailor, Pereira star in CC Dragons big Warriors win

A fantastic all-round game by Tristan Sailor has propelled the Dragons to a powerful 28-6 win over the Warriors in Auckland on Saturday afternoon, in a game played in blustery conditions.

The Warriors enjoyed an excellent start, forcing three repeat sets forcing the kick-off return all the way back over the Dragons’ goal line. The visitors did very well to hold the Warriors out, eventually forcing an error.

Warriors five eighth Adam Keighran burst through after nine minutes, almost scoring in the corner, but a perfect cover tackle by Sailor saved a certain try.

Sailor was in the action not long after, chiming into the line off some nice work by Adam Clune and providing the last pass to send Jordan Pereira over for the game’s first try after 14 minutes. The fullback then judged the wind perfectly, landing the conversion from the sideline.

The home side hit back shortly after, when Keighran showed some great skill off a set that seemed to be going nowhere. After putting a kick along the deck, he managed to grab the deflection and popped a pass for Phillip Makatoa to dive over in the corner. Like Sailor, he put in a perfect kick to convert and lock up the scores at 6-6.

A fast set saw the Dragons threaten again with nine minutes left in the half, and the Warriors had no choice but to concede a ruck penalty close to their line. Sailor edged them in front with the shot just to the right of the posts.

Pereira then cut his way back through a couple of weak tackle attempts to score his second, giving the Dragons a handy 14-6 lead at the break.

Sailor again edged the Dragons further ahead with a penalty goal shortly after the restart, before Clune scored a spectacular try off his

Pereira then cut his way back through a couple of weak tackle attempts to score his second, giving the Dragons a handy 14-6 lead at the break.

Sailor again edged the Dragons further ahead with a penalty goal shortly after the restart, before Clune scored a spectacular try off his own kick that was taken and offloaded by winger Jason Saab close to the line. In fact, the Dragons deprived the Warriors of the ball for almost the first 10 minutes of the half.

They finally got a break after a bad lifting tackle saw Lachlan Timm, Joe Lovodua and Eli Levido all put on report.

The ensuing attacking set saw Sean Mullany held up over the line, but that was as close as the Warriors would get. With 20 minutes to go, though, they seemed destined to score - however a pass from Hayze Perham ended up in the hands of Dragons’ second rower Jackson Ford. He had 90 metres to run, outpacing Adam Pompey and Cole Waaka to score under the posts to make the score 28-6.

That strike effectively killed off any hope of a Warriors comeback. The result anchors them near the foot of the table, while the Dragons picked up their first win in three games.

I am ok with McGregor rotating through the wingers until someone steps up to take the position and make it their own. Whether Periera has been that much better than Ravalawa is much of muchness. I think he has, but neither has set the world on fire. We have some average backs compared to the rest of the comp. Probably in part due to fact our coach can't attract anyone and we are spending most of that money on the number 7 who is more out off form than not.

The truth of the matter is we have no decent wingers or centres at this club. I don't know if we can ever fully appreciate the likes of Matt Cooper and Jason Nightingale. They were actually dominant in their day.

Well done JP,great performance.
Been a bit out of sorts last few games but nowhere near as bad as Rava etc.
Can't believe he was dropped for some of the other backs but its typical Mary logic. He spins the wheel of fortune each week for his team selections barring a few of his mainstay favorites.

I'm tipping Pearson and Saab to be our wingers from about August on this season. Both with speed, size and power. All of our wingers need to keep working on their defence.

Wingers:
JP is our best winger atm! (Another great game, and the heart of a dragon)
Saab is showing huge promise and I’d be tempted to blood him in FG, though I think he needs the extra off-season.
Rawa need to both learn and get some JP attitude, there is potential though.
Pearson our 2nd best atm I think, but needs to prove that...

Centres:
Lomax (if not FB)
Lafai
Aitken
Masters has potential, but needs to come on first
Maranta, just saw my first game of him playing, omg what a load of rubbish (I hope it was an off game, otherwise he needs to be terminated ASAP, both on attitude and ability)
