??????? He was fine towards the end of the season...Most people would struggle with Aitken next to them....your comparing a CC player to an origin player....Seriously

P.S if his defense was as bad as you say, he would have leaked like a sieve at hooker....

How about you aim your angst at the real problem...THE BOARD...who enable the coach ..who cannot set a game plan to the strengths of his playing roster....

Not interested in getting into an argument with you over this...have a good evening.
To be fair you can't keep expressing opinions and then shut it all down by saying
"Not interested in getting into an argument with you over this...have a good evening."
That does nothing for open discussion.
You keep hanging on to his effort as hooker which in fact requires a totally different style and technique to defending as an outside back when playing half.
At hooker you tend to have guys running directly at you so lateral movement whilst important is not as critical and you have bigs guys around you to assist in the tackle.
Defending out wide more 1 on 1's and quick players with ahead of steam up and bad technique and bad defensive reads will be found out more quickly and in the end cost you more on the score board.
You claim I am comparing Clune to Hunt when in fact all I am saying is IMO Hunt can't defend very well as a half and if Clune is worse than Hunt then Clune is shit and I stick by that analogy.
Can Hunt defend better at hooker well the proof is there for all to see but would I have him hooker ahead of Mc Innes not a chance in hell.
Do I think with Hunt defending out wide we will leak tries I sure as hell do and that problem is only magnified by Aitken's continued selection.

Alas no cigar .
That's why these guys are in reserves.
Lost too a team who had had a dozen players who if you don't follow the. jets you wouldnt know them.

I believe that the Newtown players have been together for some time now and as a result have become a very competitive outfit . Our boys seemed to be playing with stars in their eyes - perhaps looking at the next game that will now not be .

All in all a good season by the Dragons and also Matthew Head better fortune next season to each .

My fears for this game and this side are realised again at the usual pointy end of the comp
We are getting out muscled by a much bigger side who is prepared to throw it round of every play and we cant contain them. We lost our biggest and only crap forward off the bench to injury
Nicholls is a myth and everything he does in attack is pedestrian and poor lately
Field not far behind and what a brain explosion not letting the ball go dead...changed the game and momentum.
BTW...Head has got to go to...he selected this side and the left side attack and defence
If we turn it around and win this game which I highly doubt well I will delete my Head comment.
What happened to Allgood?

Great over the top diving try by Sailor. He is a good finisher just like his dad. Defence is a bit of a problem. Dragons can still win it if they don't panic and do silly mistakes.

Spoke too soon, lost possession and given away a penalty. Come on guys. Bloody think!!!
It was a close game at the end. Sailor missing some conversions didn't help. If only Field did not pass the ball too high for Runciman with about 3 minutes to go. If Runciman caught the ball he would have been through the gap and then passed to Sailor who might have scored. They are the breaks and good luck to the Jets in the grand final against Wentworthville. Should be a good game!

From the game today,

I have seen Timms play a few times now and I dont believe he is ready for first grade. I know he has some great stats but I dont see him having alot of impact in attack or defence.

Sailor just gets better and better but I dont know where you play him.

Field looked like he was already playing for the Sharks today, did stuff all.

Clune is a footballer and should be the backup half-5/8 for first grade.

Jackson Ford worked his butt off and is going to serve SGI well into the future.

Nicholls was disappointing and some of his kicks were very poor, Reese Robson is not in the same class as McInness who is the best hooker in NSW.

Pereira is a reserve grader and its disappointing Masters is going as there seems to be a lot of potential there and he is young.

And why would you start with Maranta when you have Runciman who is a better defender and a better attacker.

This was a game that SGI lost, the Jets didn't beat them. They beat themselves.
