There....that should keep you happy for a while...
LOL...Rub it in why dont you.
What a coach..what a legend...what pictures
But you were originally talking about all coaching..so I was assuming including reggies and flegg in this thread. I thought the lower 2 shed some shining light.....maybe not

Did you watch the Canterbury Cup ?....Same C%ap that the 1st's dish up..one out running, same block plays..bomb on tackle 6....that is what my comment was based on ......................

NB...Clean sweep to Souths...won all 3 grades.

POSITIVES....when we do score it is due to some individual brilliance ...nothing to do with coaching...eg...the McInnes charge down....

Canterbury Cup: Dragons fall short against Rabbitohs

A field-goal and a penalty goal in the final five minutes has seen the South Sydney Rabbitohs register an important 25-22 victory over the St George Illawarra Dragons in Wollongong on Sunday.

The Dragons wasted no time stamping their authority on the match racing to a 10-0 lead after crossing for two quick tries in the opening minutes courtesy of wingers Lachlan Maranta and Jonus Pearson, who lasted less than 30 seconds on the interchange bench after a direct swap with Jordan Pereira to make him eligible for the finals series.

After a frustrating period for both sides, South Sydney finally hit back through their winger Mawane Hiroti, who was on the end of a brilliant cut-out ball from backrower Jack Johns, before planting it just inside the corner post, narrowing the deficit to 10-4.

A mistake from souths interchange forward Brock Gray, who took out Dragons’ Darren Nicholls in the air could have been costly, however the saints dropped the steeden from the tap. Souths weren’t completely off the hook, with a heads up play from Joe Lovodua at the half hour mark were he kicked into the in-goal for a racing Reece Robson who grounded it to extend the hosts lead to 16-4, which it remained at the break.

South Sydney started the second half with better intensity, with a strategic offload from Levi Dodd setting up their second try shortly after the resumption. Dodd’s offload found half Blake Taaffe who raced away before linking up with Leigh Higgins who finished off a spectacular try. Hitori slotted the goal to make it 16-10.

A short while later, a lack of aggression in defence by the Red V allowed Bailey Sironen to stroll over for an easy four pointer, with Hitori’s goal leveling proceedings at 16-all. The Dragons still hadn’t addressed their defensive issues on their own line, conceding another four pointer, with Connor Tracey cutting through to score, giving the Rabbithos the lead for the first time in the contest at 22-16 with just twenty remaining on the clock.

Play of the week: Round 19 v Rabbitohs

The hosts responded when Lovodua injected himself into the contest again, jumping out of dummy half before popping a pass to Adam Clune who found some space, racing away downfield before turning the ball back inside to the support runner in Jai Field who planted it underneath the sticks. Tristan Sailor’s kick conversion successful to level the scores at 22-all.

The Bunnies took their first opportunity to take the field goal, after a strong attacking set saw them march up field getting in prime position. Taaffe demanded the ball behind the ruck, and got his demand, slotting the one-pointer heading into the final five minutes. A penalty goal in the dying stages from Hiroti was the nail in the coffin, with Souths stealing a 25-22 victory.

JERSEY FLEGG

Young Dragons Rabbitohs loss compounded by top eight fallout

The Jersey Flegg St George Illawarra Dragons have been defeated 28-18 by the South Sydney Rabbitohs in an agonisingly close finish.

The young Dragons were desperate for a win after their devastating 18-point loss to the Sydney Roosters the weekend prior.

The loss was compounded by other Round 19 Jersey Flegg results, the young Dragons dropping out of the top eight with five games to spare.

An energetic opening saw Dragons halfback Blair Grant help set up fullback Cody Ramsey for the game's first try in the second minute.

The Rabbitohs wrestled back momentum and eventually wore down the Dragons' goal line defence as lock Ky Rodwell kicked off proceedings for Souths. He would quickly follow up with his second try in identical fashion.

With five minutes remaining in the first half, Rabbitoh Luke Puru forced his way over the try-line to help extend his side's advantage to 12 by the break.

The Rabbitohs continued where they left off in the second half as South Sydney winger Kane Allan opened the scoring just two minutes in.

The young Dragons were desperately looking to turn the game around and it was a try from centre Shaun Sauni-Esau after a pinpoint kick from Grant that would give them hope.

The momentum remained in the hands of a young Dragons team eager to score back-to-back tries. It came via hooker Blake Barbuto, who ran 20 metres from the play the ball to dive over the try-line narrowing the lead to just one converted try.

With only three minutes remaining, the Rabbitohs were able to seal their win when halfback Lachlan Ilias scored in the corner.

South Sydney Rabbitohs 28 (Rodwell 2, Puru, Allan, Ilias tries; Ilias 4 goals) defeated St George Illawarra Dragons 18 (Ramsey, Sauni-Esau, Barbuto tries; Grant 2, Sullivan 1 goal(s)) at WIN Stadium, Wollongong.

Don't know what happened to this batch of kids, but none of them have lived up to anywhere near the hype they warranted in flegg. Very frustrating to watch all the development bear SFA!
Like every club’s supporters, we are guilty of creating the hype around our up and coming juniors, and more importantly, believing it. Remember Cummins, Matt Mundine, Hastings and Quinlan to name just a few? Field is a good footballer, but has a flaw, defence, Dufty has weaknesses but we didn’t want to see them coming into the NRL. I still think his strengths outweigh his weaknesses. Maybe we should have made more of a fuss over Garrick. Kerr created much excitement but he has significant flaws but we are attracted by his size. He played his best game last week and still might be worth more time. Ford and Timms are the new ‘hype heroes’. Maybe they deserve it, but the reality is that we see young players as saviours. They appear to have more potential because we need something and someone to save us, but we need to see players realistically. For example we needed speed for so long that Field was going to be our messiah. Now we need, at least we know we need, new centres and the hype focusses on Sailor. He will play NRL but he is not a NRL centre. Ford has played consistently well in the lower grades butI feel he lacks size as yet for the NRL. Tim is a strange one. He seems to have the potential but is young, I hope there is a plan for him, or, simply the Club might know that he is already off to another club in 2020. A shame if true.

If Timm was selected instead of Latimore earlier on in the season, he might have developed into a first grade prop.

100% spot on Possm.

Last year it was Herbert who was ready and waiting could have played fullback wing or centre, but no McGregor sticks with the old guard.
This year Timm, with again Lats and more recently Allgood getting the nod over someone who basically in the leading prop in CC.
And of course there's Maranta.

Now Timm may prove to be a super prop, and conversly he may not, but the point is it appears we will never know, at least for the Dragons.
Young Ford looks very promising as well, but how does he fit into the team with Friz and Sims ahead of him (mind you Tariq has has a year to forget), maybe time to rest Tariq and give Ford an opportunity now that the season is gone.

Would rather Timm, Herbert, Garrick etc, play with us if they fail, then we can move them on, don't see why we spend years developing them(Herbert/Garrick) , dont give them a chance, they move on and get to "shine" at their new club, when we could have used them ourselves..

Some Stats from the game against the Bunnies

Jackson Ford - 72mins - 22 runs - 267m - 93pcm - 7tb - 30 tackles - 0 missed
Patrick Kaufusi - 77mins - 17 runs - 172m - 56pcm - 3tb - 33 tackles - 2 missed

Periera listed as playing 2 mins
Runciman from the bench played 3 mins
Both starting props played over 75 mins
Sailor is not a centre

No wonder we were gassed at the end of this game. Derpness prevails.

Kudos to Ford, a mighty effort and should be rewarded with a promotion to 1st grade, but we know that won't happen. Also, well done to Kaufusi with 77 mins as prop/lock.

The CC Dragons were beaten by a Souths team that had former Dragons Levi Dodd and Leigh Higgins in their lineup. Dragons have failed to convert many wingers from Under 20's to NRL
such as Tom Carr, Reuben Garrick, Paora Kemp and Izaac Thompson. Perhaps Ricky Walford, Nathan Blacklock and /or Jason Nightingale should be engaged to assist our wingers and fullbacks as others are not coaching our young backs properly.

The changes he did in the second half, like moving dufty to the centres and having clune , field, sailor and dufty all on at the same time didn't work.
Also sailor was the best on the field last week ran for over 200meters.
Then he plays him as a centre (which to the best of my knowledge he has never played before).
Was a failure.
I don't know what he was doing.
They missed Saab bringing the ball back.
Hopefully they will turn it around next week at Kogarah.

While I acknowledge the chopping and changing would’ve been disruptive, to lose that particular game (especially after such a commanding lead) is unacceptable,

SGI reserves shouldn’t have drawn against Wests last week either.
