A big win to the Dragons 46-16. Frankly they were so dominant the score flattered the Magpies with 2 dummy half dive overs and the final pass stopping the Dragons scoring more runaway tries. A notable win, being the first without Sullivan.

If you hadn't heard of Tyrell Sloan you would want to know who this kid is. In everything, playing as an extra 5/8. Some brilliant anticipation in backing up a break to score. But also some brilliant runs from the back combining with winger Reuben who is an excitement machine. Tyrell was basically worth the cost of admission on his own.

Of the other backs Ramsey looked dangerous in possession though his front on defence looked dodgy. Bigger than I realised but maybe that's with shorter hair.

Gowieski again looked big and strong. Very hard to pull down. Like 2 weeks ago Poasa's enthusiasm and involvement impressed me. Josh Kerr and Jayden Hunt had big runs from kickoffs. Josh made it all the way to half way then putting Cody away for a free passage to the line only to be called back for a forward pass.

Love to know the back story in KO cup side improvement. I know that they had better players coming back but they were getting absolutely smashed. Perhaps the full time players realised that they were looking at getting a real job next year unless they pulled their finger out or did the coach swallow some pride and had a heart to heart with the side ?
On a side note noticed that Ellis is doing well in England . Good luck to him , just shows the opportunities for nearly NRL players over there.

I believe with his incentive type contract he plays ressies until he shows he deserves reinstatement. Seems more fat bulky than muscle bulky at present and very slow.
He definitely isn't showing much motor in his run ups. I can remember him running at top speed from way back to take balls so that he could bust the defence line when he was with the Bunnies. Not now and I just don't think that his continuation in playing league will be much improved into the future. He is much older and the hips are a big concern as well as his next court appearance on June 8.

Yes, Dragon David, 4 in a row.

Denis Preston, four big losses then Jayden Sullivan played his first game and things turned around. Yesterday without him Branxton Wallace was halfback - I assume he is the half from JF. So another specialist from the system rather than stopgaps like Brad Deitz. Of course Tyrell Sloan has played the last five so has only played in one loss but 4 wins. And he was enormous yesterday. In addition the 2 games I have seen Gowieski play NSW Cup he just looks too big and strong for the opposition. Appears to be a fringe first grader but well above NSW Cup standard.

George Burgess must be under the spotlight. Yes, injured yesterday, 2 runs 17 metres, 10 tackles, but he has made no impact in his 3-4 NRL games. Josh Kerr, after losing a ball trying to offload in one of the trials, has stuck to hard, straight running and I think has played more consistently than in past seasons. Can only think he lost his spot to give Burgess a chance.

I only caught probably the last 10 min of ressies but the boys seemed on fire, yes there will have to be some thought put in to our selections this week playing the storm, my thoughts are i would like to see young molo or hunt in place of burgess, I think Fui played within himself yesterday and looked like he really needed that blowout back in the NRL. Also we must have drained JF of their players because they took a loss, but thats the way it goes
