indeed...

not 100% sure, but table is roughly like this

Code:
               Pld. Pts.
1 Spain 10 18
2 Nigeria 11 17
3 Portugal 11 16
4 USA 11 16
5 Jamaica 9 15
6 Switzerland 9 14
7 Ukraine 9 13
8 Cameroon 10 12
9 Serbia 10 11
10 Greece 9 10
11 Chile 10 7
12 Japan 11 4

Its been a really tight series. Portugal looked certain to miss the top 8, but won their final 3 fixtures to surge into 3rd, for the time being. USA had 10 points after 4 matches, yet needed to win their final match to be sure of playoff football. Spain and Nigeria have been pretty solid is must be said. The only two sides to consistently sux are Japan and Chile, and to a lesser extent Greece.

now then. the remaining fixtures are -
Ukraine v. Cameroon
Spain v. Chile
Ukraine v. Serbia
Jamaica v. Switzerland
Switzerland v. Greece
Greece v. Jamaica

Best case scenario for Greece is that Ukraine win their remaining two matches I think. This would mean all they'd need is 1 win from their remaining fixtures to at least ensure 8th place. In the event Ukraine lose both those games, Greece then need a minimum of 4 points to progress, perhaps even 2 wins if they've got a sh*t for and against. Given one of these games is against Switzerland they'd have to be deemed in big trouble. Greece has never missed the playoffs, and it would be really awkward if they actually did miss out. but the way they have played, I guess they deserve it.

i'm also backing spain to wrap up the minor premiership.

We may well see rioting yet, pennywisealfie

well, after a dramatic ending to the round robin phase, jamaica claimed the minor premiership. greece went into their final match needing a win to ensure progression and got this via a stunning, dramatic 1-0 over jamaica. oh man, this is intense
Code:

Ukraine 18 5
Spain 18 2
Nigeria 17 5
Switzerland 17 5
Portugal 16 2
USA 16 0
Greece 14 -1
----------------------
Serbia 13 -2

And it was none other than Arsenal who scored the dramatic winner with a cool side-footed finish, setting up a repeat Jamaica v Greece play-off encounter, with Greece needing to win to stay alive

First up in the play-offs is Nigeria v Switzerland from Lagos, starting soon

Incredible game. Switzerland jump out to a 2-0 lead, and then Nigeria pull it back to 2-2 at the end of normal time. Switzerland score in extra-time to win it 3-2.

3rd v 6th, the big derby between Spain and Portugal

Spain were down 2-1 with 90 minutes up, but scored in injury time to draw level, and then scored again in extra time to win 3-2. Two thrillers so far.

2nd vs. 7th
Ukraine vs. USA

McBride's nicely taken goal in first half stoppage time seals it for USA, and ends Portugal brave run.

Minor Premiers Jamaica host Greece.

Kurt Christensen scores a classy goal early, only for a defending fracas at the other end to allow Greece level. A stunning run from Marcus Gayle then set up Christensen for a dramatic first half brace. 2-1 half time. With the tension mounting a Nikos Dabizas moment of madness saw Nibblet Jones extend Jamaica's lead to 3-1. Despite coming ridiculously close, Greece couldn't find a way back in, sealing their exit from the tournament
