Hilder was the glue that held us together yesterday. Watching the replay in detail this morning, he pulled off a number off big plays in the game through sheer commitment.
After the Idris break at the start of the match, Hilder chased across from the other side of the field to make the cover tackle on Turner who was likely to score if he hadn't.
19th minute, Roberts broke through a Simpson tackle in our 40 and looked to be in the clear before Hilder cleaned up to chop him down.
21st minute in our own 20, a loose pass from Stagg on the third tackle hit the ground at Kimmorley's feet and Hilder scrambled across to dive on it when he had absolutely no right to. Big play in terms of momentum at the time.
A few times he jammed in on the man taking the hitup with a textbook shoulder-in-the-gut tackle to knock the ball free.
I thought he was huge for us.
