Kurt Gidley led by a lot after Round 19 however the return of Danny Buderus in Round 20 meant that it wasn't going to be a easy win for him. Could Danny Buderus make up ground on Kurt Gidley and win the Knight Of The Week Award in his final year at the Knights?

A great game from Jarrod Mullen saw him poll a massive 53 points. Danny Buderus polled 28 points but that fight for the #1 spot was cut short after he suffered a season ending injury, It would take a huge miracle for anyone to overtake Kurt Gidley for the #1 spot.

10th - Chris Bailey

no wonder we finished 9th...

I think 5th is more the reflection. ;-)

Geez Kurt Gidley is KOTY. Such a big shock. I could barely contain myself waiting for Pumba to get to the end of the voting because I was so on the edge of my seat waiting to see who it was. :sarcasm:

I'll save you the trouble for next year Pumba - mark him down for 2009 as well, because really, who is possibly going to be better than him week in, week out if injuries are kind.

NO ONE.

Maybe Steve Simpson, Ben Cross maybe even Jarrod Mullen or Danny Wicks can make a push for KOTY in 2009. Ok maybe leave out the last suggestion.

Voting will go silence after SOO 1 next year so hopefully it maybe a little more exciting.

This was worse than the Dally M's

Thanks for the vote of Confidence. Appreciate it :D

Surprised Mullen was so high up.

I reckon he had about 5 GOOD games this year, the others were average to solid.

What actually did surprise me is that Royal and Taia were so low, Royal especially

Shades of the year Joey got the Dally M but Ben Kennedy got KOTW.

This year Danny finished up higher in the Dally M count, but we all know Danny wasn't the force he was in previous years and Kurt did the business every week.

As to next year - Kurt must start favourite, but i feel Mullo, Pato, Cross, Junior, Aku and maybe even De gois have it in them to give him a run for his money if they have a brilliant year.

This is about the 5th year Kurt has been in the top few and i think it's his second win, so really he has snuck into the role of one of our greatest clubmen - he js much more successful than his brother, Billy Peden, BK, Robbie O - basically anyone but Joey and Bedsy and maybe Chief, and i think two more years at the same level and he is definately only second to Joey as our greatest ever.
