Hunt is going to get blasted for the last tackle play, yeh he probably should've kicked it in hindsight BUT we did have an overlap and Mann stepped back inside when he received the ball rather than passing it where there space on the outside.

This. The result of the last tackle debacle is on Mann. We needed to get it out to the edge asap and for whatever reason, he cut back inside.

Shit happens though. It pretty much showed that we needed Gaz's big game experience out there tonight. Mann will be better for the experience. He did many other good things and looked dangerous out on the edges for most of the night. However he doesn't seem to have the vision that Gaz has in the halves.

Think they are both to blame because they both had a chance to blast it down field where it needed to be.

Looking at the replay, we actually had a two man overlap. When Mann takes the tackle you see Ben Hunt's head go back in disappointment.

Mann tries hard. He is not a half however. In fact, I'm.not sure what is his correct position is. Widdop is on a different level when our forwards are on song.

If there isn’t a vacant position on the wing then I think Mann has to be our 18th man.

I know the kids got heart and so does the rest of the team. I think it’s time everyone realises that it takes more then playing your guts out to win the premiership.

Field should of started tonight and he should of had that utility role on the bench from round 1 to prep him for games such as tonight.

Field needs to play next year because if we don’t have back up halves we are f*cked next year if Widdop or Hunt or dowb

Correct.

A star half nails that play with the game on the line. Think Morgan in 2015.

Mann ain’t it. Widdop would have been the difference tonight.

To me, Mann's only position is in the centres but he is not in your best centres for the club so should be playing NSW Cup.

I'll give credit where its due....it was probably his best ever game for the Dragons....best I've seen him play anyway.

The bad play was all on Hunt though. In that position with a minute to go, there is only one decision to make despite wherever the f**k Mann was standing......kick the living f**k out of the Steeden.

Can we please stop the nonsense that Mann has a future in the halves?

Sure, flick Lafai and play him at left centre if we need to (mind you, the improvement will be minimal).

But in reality, he has no business playing in the halves in big games.

A good coach would have planned moves rehearsed for last tackle plays; especially for field goal setup. Surely they would have practiced all of that before their finals games.

You’d think so right ?

Watch all of Reynolds FG attempts. Was like a training drill, all the forwards knew what to do and Reynolds delivered.

Compare to Hunts piss poor attempt. It was amateur hour and that’s the difference between teams that know how to win and us.

We all remember Fein's pass to Jamie in the Wests Final.
Well organized.

Listen to you lot of Mann and hunt haters, you know who you are blaming one or the other for the loss, the game was lost by the 65th minute, rabbits were dominating our blokes making huge metres every set to our paltry 30-40 metres per set or were you watching a different game we had no go forward the team was gassed, even if we got to golden point we didn’t have the energy needed to win,we were lucky the lads defended as well as they did, rabbits could have easily put more points on us,stop blaming a couple of players injury and fatigue got the better of us but at least we showed some heart
Kurt Mann has done everything that has been asked of him and more

Teams that are coached what to do to set up for a field goal and us that have no idea at all.

If I see another Mann for fb thread this off season I'll cry. He tries hard but is a squad player who can cover, not a starting 13 in any posi I'm afraid

Yep and the fact that people keep regarding him as an elite FG player shows where we are right now.

We’ll likely insist on him playing 17 again next year when it really should be Robson or Field.

Play him at left centre and piss Lafai off and be done with it. If not, he shouldn’t be in the squad at all.

no, it wasnt Manns fault, he plays the high risks plays ive always enjoyed from all my Fave Dragons halves, if that break out wide would have pulled off hed be front page of the paper and wed be favourites against the Chooks, league was played, hes a player, keep him and get him into Lafais centre spot, REF killed us with that shit penalty against Mcinnes! game was over then sorry not Manns fault or Hunts, thats league
