I watched Rowe in the NYC semi final last year and I thought he was a junior Moltzen the way he succumbed in the tackle and avoided the high balls.
Then I thought no he is more like Mullaney when he stuck an arm out and shouted touched but the ball carrier kept going.

Seems nothing much has changed with Kurtis Rowe. He did not deserve his spot in the team. Has not played well in NSW cup and is not a first grader.

Hard to believe Rowe and Tedesco where both born in 1993.

I never thought I'd say this but I'd prefer Moltzen back there over Rowe. At least Moltzen poses a threat in attack. Rowe offers absolutely nothing to the team. Not sure I've ever seen a player less ready for first grade. He looks like he'd struggle to break open a game of under 14's.

Maybe he has been told to stay back and not go and look for the ball, maybe ? his coach is letting him ease into it as it is only his 2nd game.

I'd rather a fullback who can catch the ball at least 10% of the time to someone who may step into an attacking line and hog the ball.

We have plenty of good attackers. Someone safe at the back is all thats needed from your backup fullback.

Didn't look too safe when Sandow hit him and he lost the ball 5 metres out from our line. I get what you're saying MU, but he's not that safe type of player you speak of. Mitch Brown was that type of player. Rowe offers nothing in attack, his positional play is average and he looks shaky every time he carries the ball.

If Rowe can catch bombs/clean up grubbers, then thats good enough for me from a back up player.

Rowe will at least attempt to catch bombs, and catch them. He may look shaky, but he has a go. Moltzen doesn't even do that.

When it comes to fullbacks, preventing tries imo is excessively more important than creating them. And I think Rowe does that much better than Moltzen. If Moltzen played and dropped one bomb more than Rowe, which is very possible, and Parra scored from it, we don't win the game.

And for me, thats the only thing that separates the two and places Rowe ahead of Moltzen in my books.

You wouldn't have Simona at fullback over Tedesco, so why bother stuffing the bloke around if it's only going to be for a few weeks? Simona's playing well where he is, let him continue to build his combination with Nofoaluma. Tedesco will be back soon enough and Rowe can go back to NSW Cup where he'll be better for the run in first grade.

This is my thoughts as well. I can't say that Rowe looks likely at all however its more about keeping Simona playing where he will be for the rest of the season.

I also think Potter should be playing Simona at left centre as he seems to go a little better there although this might be too early to tell.

Rowe is defensively terrible,has no positional play and offers nothing in attack. I havent seen him play before so I am hoping this is nerves etc but other comments here make me doubt that is the case.

Moltzen is the worst ever fullback to ever play. He lets the ball bounce every game at least this kid does not cost us games.

Everyone has a short memory a few years ago vs Broncos at SFS watch the tape he let 3 hit the ground or dropped. He was in the team as he was polishing Benji. Anyone who thinks he is better than Rowe is kidding.

I understand the u/20' is very soft compared to NRL but you still need to have some ability to score , like speed , step or great support play but he has shown zero . Im just puzzled as what he has that has got him this far ?
