Cesc is the better player, Xavi just isn't versatile enough anymore and can't beat anyone on the dribble. Cesc might not have the range of passes but he's much better going forward and makes great runs into the box. I'd love to see Sergi Roberto and Rafinha get a chance as well. My major concern is in defence, right now we have Mascherano and Bartra back there, that's just not good enough against the big boys

There was a time when they would've been prepared for this but loosing a coach they loved and respected as if he was their own father would be a big factor too. I can't imagine what it was like for players like Pedro and Sergio to loose Pep.

I'm not saying this from myself. I have friends who are Barca supporters that tell me how Barca players aren't giving it a 100%. Messi is a prime example.
