Madrid drop 2 points at home to Malaga. Gap now 8 points with 2nd Classico in late April. Madrid also have a harder run home imo.

Barca win 5-3 this morning with Messi bagging 2. I think it's safe to say though that Madrid have the title in the bag.

Great effort by Granada, Barca were paying $1.03 to win this match! Dani Alves got sent off too...

Surely Real Madrid won't lose it from here, even if/when they lose El Clasico, it will be a 5 point gap...

Those fouls from Alves were moronic. First time Barca had given away a penalty in the league in 2 years and it happened twice.

Still not sold on Madrid winning it. A 5 point gap can evaporate with just a loss and a draw, and if they finish level, Barca will rank higher on head to head. However it requires Barca to be absolutely perfect for the remainder of the season.

For the record here's each side's run home:
Madrid (11 games): Villarreal (A), Osasuna (A), Valencia (H), Atletico (A), Gijon (H), Barca (A), Sevilla (H), Bilbao (A), Granada (A), Mallorca (H).
Barca (10 games): Mallorca (A), Bilbao (H), Zaragoza (A), Getafe (H), Levante (A), Madrid (H), Rayo (A), Malaga (H), Espanyol (H), Betis (A).

I can see Madrid dropping points to Atletico, Valencia and Bilbao. The rest they will win (except for the Classico).
For Barca, Levante and Rayo on the road are potential banana skins but there's a big chance they can win all 10 - they'll need to.

Farcical refereeing this morning in the Madrid/Villarreal game.
Real had a coach, Mourinho, Ramos and Ozil all sent off, the latter three in the space of two minutes.
Ramos should've been sent, I don't know if Mourinho and the coach were abusing the ref or just complaining, and there is as yet no confirmation as to why Ozil saw red.
6 point gap now, it's surprising because it came off a very rare Iker mistake, not to mention their free kick was awarded wrongly.

Well, well, well. I didn't factor a Villarreal draw into my prediction. Makes things even more interesting. It would be a 3 point gap if Barca win the Classico.

Good call my friend!

A lot can happen in 3 days, Barca have closed the gap by 4 points. Mourinho must be getting a tad nervous right now....

Just saw the Villareal highlights. Agreed, Ramos deserved his send off, Ozil's looked harsh, but then again, who knows what he may have said to the ref???

I love the start of this highlights video, Pepe gets booked on the stroke of halftime (I believe it was karma catching up with him for that disgraceful dive he took in El Clasico)

12 Feb - 10 point gap after Barca lose to Osasuna
9 Apr - 4 point gap with Classico to come

Time to call a doctor - Madrid are choking!

Strange that Soldado was benched for this one. I wonder if they may have even snuck a 0-1 win if he'd played...

Atletico vs Real tomorrow night, another tough one....

They still have to go to Bilbao too.

For the record, here's each side's run home:

Madrid (79 pts): Atletico (A), Gijon (H), Barca (A), Sevilla (H), Bilbao (A), Granada (A), Mallorca (H).
Barca (75 pts): Getafe (H), Levante (A), Madrid (H), Rayo (A), Malaga (H), Espanyol (H), Betis (A).

Atletico and Bilbao are the two that Madrid could drop points in.

For Barca, Rayo and Betis away could be tricky.

But, of course, El Clasico is key. Could very well be winner takes all.
