Great signing by the dragons ... All we need is Farrell to retire and roll out the rep carpet for Roberts ! Most potent back line in the comp and fringe top 4 side

Salivate over these Lafai highlights. He's worth 10 tries a season on the left and Dugan is just as Dangerous on the right side.. Marshall should have a field day next season.. Honestly we could have a brilliant attacking team next year..

Great compilation, I'm a lot more excited about getting him now. But after watching it the main thing I noticed was that Rabs was calling every single game. So much free to air for those scum :x

We'll see, but I'm not impressed with this signing. Has the potential to be another Nielsen or Farrell more so than a Roberts or Walker.
I don't think Mulholland would have wasted money on this one.

At least the club hasn't been sitting on it's hands. It's great to see that at least we've been active in the player market.

And, I'm honestly starting to think that we'll go alright next year.

But, I have been disappointed before.

Terrible news. I was hoping for Roberts. Lafai won't push Matautai or Aitken out of the top 17.

Agree. He will likely be better than those 2 but not by much.

o I dont believe this signing has anything to do with Roberts (I bet it was pencilled in before he was even released officially from the dogs).

o Apparently Lafai has lost speed since 2014, but the dude can sniff out a try.. definitely him and Dugan will provide centre strike power (through muscle rather than speed), granted he will have to fight for L.Centre with Aitken & Matautai, id say noone is guaranteed a Round 1 spot.

o Anyone know what Lafai's defence is like? This is critical really to his spot..

Note: The remaining money in our 2016 cap will surely go to either Roberts or Bird, and if we fail on both, we may have to burn it on a mid-season buy, some juniors or try to front load some more deals (if thats actually allowed).

Geesus you can come up with some dribble. Walk up starting Centre. End of story.

Sure, moron. If I were to search through the threads I bet I would find you were saying the same thing about Kurt Mann.

I have always liked Lafai. A centre pairing of Dugan and Lafai gives us a massive presence 2 passes off the ruck (I am assuming that Dugan goes to centre and Mann to fullback).

I have a lot of time for Mata'Utai and Aitken but the size of Lafai and Dugan relegate them I am afraid. The other part of the puzzle is the need for a ball playing fullback who can glide into the line and either go himself or draw and pass (not one of Dugan's strength's).

Now I know that I am talking about Kurt Mann based on speculation (Melbourne had a high regard for him and that will do me) and I have no problem with Mata'Utai having a shot at fullback either because he is a smart footballer. Either way we need a fullback who can add another passing dimension in attack.

The other issue for me is who plays wing? I love Flo (love him) but is he the best and fastest option we have? Maybe Glymin and KFL are the best options!

Given the size and the versatility of the forward pack we have assembled (assuming Packer stays) I am more then happy to declare that we might give the bloody title a sneaky shot in 2016.

Now a left field prediction for a Dragons bolter is 2016... Sebastine Ikahahifo Reminds me a little of a Tyson Frizzle Mark 11.

In summary fellow tragic's; isn't it great to be talking about so much genuine selection alternatives? I could be well off the mark in my assessment but it is great to be having these conversations after a few years in the wilderness.

So many on the forum talk up our results from last year.

We pushed the Dogs all the way in the semi's and they were out the following week so our results are pretty similar.

We buy a centre that they let go (we didn't actually recruit him) and some are willing / pushing to put him in ahead of what we already have that achieved a better than anticipated result in 2015.

Lafai's 2015 stats not so good but posts identify a range of issues and show that he had a good 2014. Even taking that into account it is more than a year ago since he showed real form.

For heavens sake put him in the Cutters and let him earn his spot (if he is any good he will quickly do that) and initially reward the people you were talking up 5 minutes ago when we all said how well we went last year. If they don't cut it then by all means drop them but at least show some loyalty to the incumbents.

By the look of it some of the posters here went to to their own wedding and walked back down the aisle with the bridesmaid.

Lafai is a gun plus an additional goal kicker.. Lafai is a god send a specialist left sided centre.. Great buy!!

I agree w everything u say except that Nigtingale is still a gun finisher - you just had to look at the NZ v UK test match when he finished off to magnificent tries.. He was injured last year.. I'm prepared to say that we will finish in in the top 3 attacking teams next year.. Plus our forwards w Packer and Masoe, Frizell will intimidate every pack next year including the Rabbitohs big 6... If we somehow jag Roberts I'm prepared to say a certain top 4 finish
