They were talking him up before the season started and said he was training the house down. Know we can see the benefits and reason why he got the nod ahead of Mann and Milne.

I was shocked when he got the nod ahead of Milne but 100% the right call by Mary and the coaching staff....

Lafai on his form this year is a priority to be given an extension, he has shown this year what a great player he is.
Let's get him done and then Mann.

The 3 amigos of Tim/ Kurt and Milne need to be retained.
There is a stack of players coming off contract that you'd think we will let them go..
McCrone, Marketo, Mosey, Matthews...you'd think there was enough money in the kitty to retain the best and say adios to the non performers....

The problem is that salary for top juniors is becoming close to that of bottom pay of reserve graders. So no great gain money wise in getting rid of the rabble when it's juniors being promoted or reserve graders being recruited.

If whispers that he was being shopped around late last year were true then it shows that he holds nothing against the club and really wants to be here.

I still think maybe only 2 of Mann/Milne and Lafai will be retained. Which I'm okay with, especially given the juniors we do have coming through.

Forget where the money has gone but rather looking at roster management.

Lafai would and should be a lock at left centre for the next few years.

That leaves Mann (my preference) and Milne to fight out for let's say right centre but we already have Aitken signed there too. So unless we have other plans for Mann like fullback it makes no sense to keep Milne too, especially considering the amount of quality backs we have coming through.

I concede one thought I haven't had until now is if Nighty retires and Mann goes to that wing which leaves Milne and Aitken fighting out for right centre but I doubt that.

Depending what Milne is asking I guess will depend if we keep him or not as I don't see him being first choice but at the moment the backup
