but then heard it on the late news & thompson metioning that despite doust assuring him otherwise, he was hearing it all over the place.

There's nothing to it, apparently West Tigers approached the club a month or two ago re seeing if the Doust was interested in off loading thommo from the last year of his contract. Doust went to Brown and put it to him and Brown said "definitely not". End of story.

Now the well known roosters fan Danny "Pudgy" Weidler on the eve of the roosters biggest game of the year so far, decides to use his friendship with Thommo to re ignite a story the embers of which burnt out 6 weeks ago. Thompson has been assured he will see out his deal, and shouldn't have spoken to Weidler the day before our big clash.

C'mon EA you blokes already have the best recruitment so far for next season don't be too greedy, and that's with another 500k left to spare under the cap. The West tigers are going to be powerhouse in the next couple of seasons, which should make you pretty happy.

Seriously though EA if Thommo ever left, I could only ever see him joining a traditional club like Wests or Souths, so you never know.

The guy has bled red and white since he was a kid. He has served well in first grade for 10 years, and should have some sort of special recognition for his loyalty to the club. Through good and bad times one constant remains...Lance Thompson!

Not since Mark Coyne have we had such a staunch, long serving, club man. Just his prescence on the field lifts the rest of the team, not to mention the fans.

Danny boy said the same thing about Bowen leaving Cowboys at the start of the year and that their was alot of friction at the club only for Bowen to sign a new 4 year deal a few weeks later.

We may hear Thommo signing an extended contract soon going on Danny's form.
