I am sorry, i didnt mean to come across as a dickhead, but i genuinely dont understand your point....

Wests Ashfield is the Leagues Club putting the most money into the Tigers. Obviously clubs fund teams in this way to have a say in where they play, but usually Leagues Clubs will want them to play nearby so people head in there after games. (These clubs are really the only thing keeping teams in suburban grounds anymore)

So, if this is the goal of Wests Ashfield, then Campbeltown wont have any pull for them.

Is there a factor here im missing???

Watched my team play on fox then walked to the ground about 5 mins after kick off in the tigers game. Not a seat in the stands or a spot on the hill or standing room near the bar. Place was packed to the brim had to leave at half time couldn't even see the game.

Awesome showing by C-Town. Majority of ppl had tigers merch on too.

How much was the crowd figure?

Credit where it's due - great crowd and a bit of a surprise actually.

I wish the team had of put on a better show for them though- below average display.

The one thing it does do is send a message to Mayer and his cronies that $30 GA tickets are just too damn expensive. I don't really understand why they just simply make GA's $10 at Leichhardt and Campbelltown. If that was 13,000 $10 tickets sold, it's more money that the Cowboys game and that's without taking food and merch sales into it.

They won't though. They'll go back to normal for the Canberra game, which is the least appealing of any game. The only good thing about Canberra is they do being a decent amount of supporters, usually.

it's how the club runs.

"Every other club charges $30 GA tickets nowadays, so we should too"

Completely overlooking the demographic of the club. There'd be a shitload of young families out west, and if they have 2 kids, it's gonna cost them near enough to $100 after a drink and tucker for each of them. And when you price them out like that, you've got f**k all chance of selling merch.

It's blatantly f**king stupid.

You're right, they have very little understanding of the Macathur area. The games need promotion and the pricing has to be right. The biggest crowd I ever sat in a Campbelltown was Ellery Hanley's first game against Souths. We (Magpies) were going like a busted arse at the time and the stadium was full, with thousands of kids allowed to sit behind the dead-ball lines. The promotion for that game was excellent, the promotion for last night's game was good. But the real selling point for both was cheap tickets.

The thing is, the other western Sydney clubs don't sell GA's for $30 to suburban grounds.

Pennies are $20
Parra are $20

I've never, ever paid $30 for a GA seat to any suburban ground, anywhere.

As with the last few home games, the crowd looked bigger than what was announced. Does anybody know if the capacity of Campbelltown has been reduced since the new concourse seating was installed? I seem to remember a crowd of 19-20k for a game against the Bulldogs a few seasons back but I have no idea how an extra 3k could've been accommodated last night. The ground looked at capacity. In any case, it was an excellent crowd.

It would have reduced the capacity a bit, 20k is the official capacity. Love to see where the other 3 1/2 thousand could have been put last night.

19,252 v Dogs in 2012 is the one you're thinking of.

$20 may be sustainable.

$10 is not.

Bear in mind that you change that pricing structure and the season ticket pricing structure also has to change

I hear Meyer was on the radio this morning already talking down the $10 deal for any future games.

What a surprise - obviously 6k showing up is better for players and sponsors.

$15 is fair enough for prices. Cap it at $20 though.

Anything over 20 at a suburban ground is robbery

Really just do what the Bulldogs do and advertise promotion ticket prices. So for Roosters game we had $10 tickets for 10 years to celebrate 10yrs since beating the Roosters in 2004. Last year when we played Parra we had a return to the 80's, with 80's prices on GA tickets and on hot dogs and chicko rolls. Bulldogs are pretty good at working in some tie in for each match so there is a window of opportunity to buy discounted tickets. I suppose it then gets supporters looking and buying tickets early (thus committing there money).
