Any investor is going to look at will my invest provide returns and when?
With this system, not perfect as it is, I could come in buy London or Bradford today and have them in SL next year potentially. Thats more appealing than having to wait 3 years and hope that Ive beaten 12 other clubs and if I just miss out have to wait another 3 years isnt it?

3 years gives clubs stability to build their business and not focus on short term decisions

Same with a promoted club not focusing on one year but being stable over 3

Salford rightly or wrong might get new investors in if they had 3 years in super league

Now they will fire sell their players and get relegated

I guess it’s a one off and keeps the super league clubs working to stay in but it’s way too short term

Like I said depends which way you look at it. It keeps existing SL clubs honest and makes the top clubs outside SL more attractive for investment.

Salford are in a mess as they havent been well run and dont have a large fanbase and havent either been able to build it or havent tried too hard. Maybe they just arent a SL club at the moment?

We saw last year how HFC tanked the year as they knew there was no jeopardy for this season. I wouldnt want clubs not investing for 2 years them doing the election thing and spending big in year 3 to boost their scores for final assessment year.

That’s why I said average it out over the 3 years (average score)

If clubs in super league are safe from relegation you will get more serious investors who can turn clubs around

The whole system could be solved by having a 14 team super league with no relegation as that covers just about everyone

I get a feeling giants will rebrand as you said if they move to Halifax to target a new fan base and keep some of the old

With the nonsense around Castleford, Salford and Huddersfield, you have to question just how deep IMG did their research.

I do recall them saying SL may expand if teams attain an A grading, so I like it that way as it pushes the likes of Toulouse, Bradford, London to aim for A status as it guarantees SL
