No outside back, no matter how good is worth a million a year.

This view has become trendy, partially due to certain coaches and playing styles. But if your outside back is influencing more tries and wins than your halves (other examples would be Semi Radradra at Parra or even Inglis) then why not?

Imo Roosters will offer Latrell something around the 900k mark for the next 3-4 years. He'll receive marginally higher offers.
Will stay due to the superior environment at Easts.

The idea of certain positions being inherently worth more is pretty silly. If LM is having a massive influence on games from centre, he'll get paid. Moving to 1 or 6 isn't necessary.

It will be difficult for anyone to outbid the Roosters on him. You would think the lion's share of Cronk's salary will go to Latrell. The cap also rises 200k next year and 100k each of the 2 years after.
Roosters will be able to pay him as high as anyone could want within reason. We will only get beat on massive overs.
Paying a single player 1.4M would make balancing the rest of the cap very difficult.

And they still have money left after high priced recruit Gavin Miller retired....

Is he a good enough fullback or pivot to be worth that money though? Unproven at this stage.

You are in error. Latrell has played a heck of a lot of football in the lower grades at fullback for the Roosters. He has played some games at five eight in the lower grades as well as first grade, and Trent Robinson has had him learning the pivot role during the off season in case of injuries.
