League an International Farce??

i hate how people use false acronymes like the IRLF, shows how farcical the International Game is when its own fans dont know the name of the organisation.

I think the IRLF have to tone down their ideas. If they think teams like Netherland or Germany are actually RL playing nationals they are deluded. Gettings a few guys together and playing an "international" is just not good for the sports image. There is no subitute for proper development plans.

StephanieM you'll find that the Axemen are covering accomodation and travel costs and also paying for uniforms.

I don't think that's semi-pro. The players are not out of pockets but they are still not making money. They just sound like a well run amateur club.

You have all managed to forget about the great efforts that gone into the game in America which see's the game there now on the verge of going semi pro and has recently signed with a major broadcaster in the states.....alone with the teams Mr Fahrenheit listed as a priority the USA should also be placed into that catagory.

Imagine how big the game would be if it hit it big in the USA

If the USA took up league as seriously as the NFL then the NRL would explode in australia and many other markets too.

Everybody, regardless of whether they like the game knows american athletes from all of their disciplines.

The Aussies would be getting in line and the english would lift their game monumentally. The french, well beating the Americans is there life long ambition.

If the USA took up league as seriously as the NFL then the NRL would explode in australia and many other markets too.

Everybody, regardless of whether they like the game knows american athletes from all of their disciplines.

Thats one possiblity. But id think that we would find ourselves in a situation where the NRL is full of unskilled players as any of the good ones would be playing for the US equivalent of the NRL. The money on offer would be extremely high compared to ours. NFL is the richest sport in the world. With a heap more revenue than the Premier League soccer in england.

You cant say that just cause of america league would explode in other markets. Where is gridion in the world scene? Nowhere, they are trying to expand around the world but havent made much inroads for their efforts yet.

Now after over 70 years of the game in both countries THAT is a JOKE.
If you think these countries can play union YOU are deluded mate

The NNRLB got bigger crowds for thier RLWC games than the NRB ever get.

The NNRLB get no funding while the NRB get over 250,000 per year from the IRB alone YET still cant develop players.

The Dutch League guys were all from 2nd/3rd div union clubs who played for three years against touring and domestic teams.The NRB stopped and are still stopping their first division guys playing with lies lies and more lies....

When we went to Georgia they teased us about the last time a Dutch team played in Tbilisi (80 odd NIL)
