Leeds were probably my second team when they had The Duke and Harry. But i had no idea just how insular and pathetic their supporters really were. When Kewell left, i got a great idea just how bad they were, just by the reaction of the fans from the Liverpool vs Leeds game when they booed Harry's every move. Fair enough i thought, thats pretty harmless and im sure Harry never really minded nor cared.

But what Alan Smith has gone through since he joined "The Scum" ... Manchester United according to Leeds fans has been nothing short of disgraceful. When the guy has to deal with death threats towards his beloved family members and himself ... plus rocks thrown through his house in Leeds, then i find that sort of thing a little hard to stomach. The things that Alan has gone through by simply moving to Man U have been truly disgusting, but it hasnt fazed him in the slightest. He's still giving it his all, at the best of his ability, as he did for Leeds.

Its a disgrace that something like this is happening on a daily basis for Alan, but ffs MOVE !! Its obvious the Leeds supporters are sub-human, but there is no more need to live there anymore Alan. Do the right thing and move your family too. These people are nothing short of animals ... but animals are MUCH better than them its offensive to compare animals to these sub-humans.

Disgusting, Leeds, disgusting. You've always been known as Dirty Leeds ... but this really takes the cake !!

Btw .. the reason all this is happening to Alan Smith, is simply because he told the Leeds fans he would NEVER join The Scum. Well they should really call themselves that imo. Man U or anyone else would NEVER stoop so low.

Since some them do it, everyone does it....slow down and take a look around, its like saying that all bulldogs fans like to cause trouble. Although i don't like Smith moving to Scum Utd, i still wish him all the best there. And most senile Leeds fans would agree that there is no need at all for that shit that going on....

After originally having doubts, he's won me over completely. Been our best and most consistent player since he's joined us, and scored two fantastic goals. The signs are promising about a partnership with Ruud. And Saha should be able to work well with both, playing as the #1 striker with Smith and dropping back deeper when playing with Ruud.

It's good to finally have 3 top class strikers to rotate once again. We've been so heavily reliant on Ruud for the last three seasons, we've led somewhat a charmed life that he has never gone down with a serious injury otherwise we'd have been stuffed.

And hopefully we'll be picking up Rooney sometime in the next 12 months. [-o<

Nice generalisation dipstick. For the record, I think Rorter supporters are bell ends who haven't got a clue what they're talking about.

I'm not sure where you've read all these 'facts' regarding Smith and his house being attacked and death threats but there's been nothing in my local papers or on the local news. Oh and by the way, I live in Leeds.

Actually i read about it on the Leeds United Supporters website. It was a just after he announced the signing. To be fair to the majority of Leeds supporters, they didnt condone it at all ... but some did and even applauded it, just because they hate "The Scum" so much.

I guess i should have said "Some Leeds Supporters" ... but still you wouldnt find any Rugby League supporter at all doing something like this, simply for signing for another club. No matter how small the group who are responsible ... it's still a disgrace, no matter how you look at it. Quite frankly, even though it is a small amount of hooligans who are responsible for this, your nickname of "Dirty Leeds" is quite true because of them. And there's not much the decent Leeds supporters can do about it i guess, which is sad. I still like Leeds and follow them in the First Division and hope to high heaven they get promoted again. But some of the Leeds supporters leave alot to be desired.

The rest of the football world has tried to kill us off before. We have always overcome, in one instance we won the League that had been "promised" to the Rags from across the Pennines. We'll be beack.

How, in the Lord's name, have i reversed what i said originally ? Perhaps i was too harsh in calling Leeds supporters "animals" because quite rightly, not all are like that. And yes, i wanted to rephrase my intitial outburst. But in no way have i ever condoned what the few "animals" did ... they are simply scum, and dont even deserve the title "animal". I know a lot of animals, and they are 100000000 times better than most humans.

So wtf were you so against my rephrasing ? Im all ears SS <--- ooh doesnt that ring true ;-)

Which Leeds United supporters club did you read this rubbish on then? The comments that give you the impression that Leeds United supporters are animals?

I am a Leeds United season ticket holder. I am a member of the official Leeds United supporters club. I live in Leeds. And yet not once have I heard or read about Leeds United supporters smashing up Alan Smiths house windows. Or any death threats. Not one thing in any of the local newspapers or on local tv news.

Thats not to say I haven't heard and read from some of my fellow supporters who are ever so slightly agrieved that a player who states 6 months previously he would never play for Man Ure, suddenly decides after he and his colleagues have got Leeds United relegated, to go and play for the rags. Why? Because he doesn't think he's suited to the level of football he's just been relegated too. Well the 30000 Leeds supporters who follow their team through thick and thin dont have that sort of choice. We're not lower league football fans but we're stuck with lower league football whether we like it or not.

When footballers move clubs to their biggest rivals this sort of thing ALWAYS happens, supporters get passionate and things get heated. Remember Sol Campbell and his move to Arsenal. The Tottenham fans showed their displeasure when he next visited White Hart Lane. There hasn't been a transfer of player between Man Ure and Liverpool for decades. Why? Because they hate each other. There would be riots if either team sold a player to the other. This is the norm in our country. Its not ideal but its the passion of football.

And my last point concerns your total lack of knowledge about Leeds United. They were probably your second favourite team eh? So how come you know jack 5hit about Leeds United? Our nickname 'dirty Leeds' has feck all to do with the supporters. The nickname 'dirty Leeds' stems from our most glorious period of success, the late 60's and early 70's. When not only were we the dominant force in terms of skill and success but because of the likes of Bremner, Giles and Hunter we also had a team who didn't take a backward step. i.e - they kicked the crap out of anyone who they played. Thus the media and then the rest of the football world dubbed us 'dirty Leeds'.

Well done surburbanknight, It's great to see such a loyal supporter stick up for the club and show up a moron.

Our club has probably the most loyal fan base in British football, the way Smith ended his stint at Leeds he recieved probably one of the most emotional send off's for been such a great player for our club.
That's the way Football goes, Alan went of on good terms and no matter what he'll always be a favourite here at Elland Road as we watch him grow and progress into a International player at the Scum.

I've seen the animals, I remember a Barcelona player singing with Real Madrid not so long back, I think you need to look and see who the real animals are looking at the way they reacted.
If our supporters had of reacted the way they had done, we would have been kicked from the Premiership, just because people like you point the finger at us.
What next for you, are you going to write a post on Everton supporters whinging and writing filthy comments about Rooney around the stadium in spray paint, writing death threats, about the singing .
Because some how I think they are the ones who have reacted like true animals.

Every club in the world will have fans that react in the wrong way and thats part of football but I have to say I was and still am dissapointed that Smithy left and going to Man Utd really rubbed the salt into the wound. :x
But as "DrewBeliever" said he will always be a favourite at Elland Road and he did a heap of good work for the club both on and off the pitch.

Can't find anything on the net, but a palace supporter was pushed under a bus near Villa Park, resulting in his death, no charges were laid.
