Mong you are a deadset tool, you probably dont even give a s*** about all this. Im glad there's some REAL Leeds fans in here supporting the club. I havent come in this forum for quite a while so it was interesting to see how this thread has developed. Im a Leeds fan, have been for about since about '97. Been through the good times of the champions league and the heartbreak that relegation bought last season.

A few points though:

* How can anyone question the character of Leeds United supporters?? Thats absurd! As for the treatment they've handed out to some former players, well its hardly unexpected considering the history between Leeds and ManU (Smith0 and Liverpool (Kewell). Smith knew damn well what would happen when he joined MU and Kewell well he and his manager handled Leeds disgracefully.

Back to the criticising Leeds supporters, I cant understand how or why you would. Not once last season did our club's supporters desert the team, they cheered, supported and were behind the boys until that final whistle. Even this season crowds at Elland Road still average around 30K plus, now for a club that has gone through the hardship it has in the last few years, thats pretty damn amazing. Therefore there is no way whatsoever!! Leeds suppporters can be criticised.

*For you fools who actually believe this club will go down into League One next season and sink further, keep dreaming because its the only way that will be happening. The squad for this season has had its teething problems especially up front. The club currently has the best defense in the league (May've changed over night?) and has a squad that will fight tooth and nail this season.

I think realistically we can and probably will finish mid table, if the season continues as it is, thats where we'll end up. If we can get our strikers firing then finishing higher towards the play off places isnt out of the question yet.

How funny it is to see players like Danny Pugh and possibly David Healy playing for a club that had Viduka, Kewell, Keane, Bowyer, Fowler only a couple of years ago. Look at what's happened to Sheff Wed and Wimbledon, relegation is not an impossibility.

For sure, nothing is impossible, in the same way as relegation is possible, so is promotion. Leeds really are a modern day example of how the mighty have fallen..........in this case on their own sword. Which is sad, with a little more common sense with the cofffers and imo had David O'Leary not being sacked, i actually believe we would not be in the position we are now.

I still don't understand why O'Leary got the sack.
Apparently it was something to do with us finishing fouth and fifth and it wasn't good enough.
Though Liverpool are an example of Houliers leave from there club, because there lack of sucsess had come to a hault.

To be fair, Terry Venables was never going to be a replacement for O'Leary.

And don't knock Danny Pugh Raiders_Ultra, he's a very talented youngster who plays none stop hard work footy.

Things were going bad for us and someone had to take the blame...unfortunatly it was O'Leary who got punted and the rest is history.

Any word on whats happening with the Healy transfer? I thought talks had broken down altogether...

Guess what!!

Leeds United have today agreed a fee with Preston North End for Northern Ireland striker David Healy.

Both clubs have agreed to keep the transfer fee undisclosed, but the 25-year-old will complete his move to Elland Road today subject to passing a medical and agreeing personal terms.

Kevin Blackwell has left supporters in no doubt that he believes Healy would be a key addition to the squad.

"David is a player I admire," he said.

"He is a proven international player, a proven goalscorer and a player with a good pedigree. He is the type of player this club should be looking to attract if we are to move forward.

"David wants to play for this club, so hopefully everything can be agreed quickly."

Healy began his career as a trainee with Manchester United but only made three substitutes appearances for them. After impressing former Preston boss David Moyes whilst on loan, he made a permanent move to Deepdale in a deal worth £1.5m in January 2001.

In just over three seasons with Preston he scored 44 goals in 120 starts for the Lilywhites and at international level is currently Northern Ireland's all time leading goalscorer with 15 goals from 39 caps.

Leeds are still waiting to hear if they can make one further addition to the squad ahead of Sunday's clash against top of the table Wigan.

Blackwell has enquired about taking West Ham midfielder Don Hutchison on loan but must wait to hear if the Hammers have picked up any fresh injuries following their Carling Cup defeat to Chelsea.

If given the all clear, Hutchison is expected to make his way to Leeds later on Thursday.

Therefor, look's like where also getting Hutchison aswell!

I just read that news on Soccernet and was a little suprised but very happy that Healy has been snapped up. Hopefully he will be able to add that little spark up front that has been missing all season. Hutchison is also an attacking minded player who would fit well into our current current midfield with Gregan.

Also the new takeover talks are on going with this line a hopeful sign of things to come....

Sainsbury seized upon that, saying the primary intentions of his group were to buy back Thorp Arch, secure the future of Elland Road and provide manager Kevin Blackwell with cash to spend.
