Yes mate. The Wests Group have publicly stated they are committed to the Wests tigers brand. There is no talk of that changing. But you may find games split between Campbelltown and ANZ, with Leichhardt numbers reduced until they play only a annual heritage style game there.

I have no issue with that. Never have.

In fact that is practically what i want to see.

Me too. LO is like Belmore for mine. A ground great for nostalgia, but probably not fit for multiple games a year.

I'd like Souths or Easts V Tigers at LO to be a yearly fixture.

I think if you take sentiment (and tools) out of the equation, it is the only logical step. As much as I like suburban grounds, Leichhardt is sub standard. Parking is a nightmare, public transport from the south west is so difficult you wouldn't do it, you can't see the sidelines when everyone is standing on the hill, the toilets are 3rd world and known to overflow effluent, the list goes on.

Keep it for a heritage match and drag out the orange jersey once a year.

If it's about dollars, all games will be held at ANZ I would imagine.

I'm not averse to playing more games at Campbelltown, I just want whatever will keep the club solvent in the meantime until we can get the scratch together to set up full time in Campbelltown. It stands to reason that if we continue to play games at LO and CSS, we are spending money we don't have.

I agree with your sentiments about self determination. I think it is in the best interests of the club that Balmain part ways, that way there is one governing body. Wests Ashfield will respect the Balmain & Wests heritage, they'll respect that Wests Tigers should be it's own entity, and not an extension of either former club and most importantly, they know how to run a business successfully. Having the NRL there for the interim is not a bad move as it has removed the factional bullshit while Balmain are in their death throes which has been a destabilising influence, but it gives the NRL the power to do whatever is best for the NRL rather than the club which is not beneficial for us long term.

I am happy for them to manage us into a post-Balmain, single owner organisation, but that would be where I would want to see their involvement cease.

Agree with everything you have said. But I think they should split the games between Campbelltown and ANZ. The southwest needs to feel like the team represents the area, which has not been a strong point of the club. A lot of families moved south west for cheap housing and continue to support an out of town team. But these people had kids who support Wests Tigers, and these kids are starting to get to an age where they can get themselves to games. We need to hook this generation.

Madunit mate, I don't care who owns Leichhardt, just sell it to build a few flats there and a little park.

And indeed regarding ex-players running clubs and the NRL, no-way, I heard Matt Johns say that Cam Smith might head the NRL one day, ffs, it's ridiculous, there are plenty of people who go to Oxford or Cambridge it probably should be someone who's gone there or another top Uni like in all other sports, Roger Goodell has a degree in Economics.

1 from 4 at Leichhardt this year haha. Talking to you is a battle of wits with an unarmed man...

Me thinks the ole Balmainites can't help themselves.

Just maybe, if Wests takeover Balmain's 50% the white tiger concept might just be happening.
