Les Murray - expert on "Rugby League culture"

Bloody hell. I'm a big fan of Les, and usually he is right on the money. But this is utter tripe. In fact, it was Les Murray himself who opened my eyes fully to the levels of corruption at the top levels of the game of football (especially FIFA and UEFA), which are on par with the corruption in the IOC. Thankfully, being a regionalised sport, we are spared such corruption (for the most part). But there is no way known football as a sport is squeaky clean. Any sport that gives young men sh*tloads of money (and football utterly dwarfs league in that regard) and time on their hands is going to ultimately face trouble from some of those young ment going off the rails.

Others have already raised what is without doubt the grubbiest and most corrupt sport in the world, road cycling, a sport promoted heavily by SBS and ignored by all other media outlets. Les is one of the senior people at SBS sport, and if he is unaware of all the sh*t that goes on in cycling, then I'm a Queenslander.

Nope, I think this time Les' personal prejudices are coming out. Because as a kid he was given sh*t for following soccer instead of league or rules, he carries a big chip on his shoulder about both sports. I guess we all have our blind spots.

He really did his research!

"THE girl at the centre of the sensational soccer gang rape case consented to sex with four men, one of them claimed last night.
Party organiser Nicholas Meikle said the 17-year-old former Catholic schoolgirl willingly participated in the night of debauchery at London's Grosvenor House Hotel. "

The goalkeeper from team MAX ignited a scandal with three teammates in the locker room. He allegedly offered to solicit his coach. “It seemed to me that Stefan wanted to be intimate and establish a closeness with me, but I sleep with women,” said the coach.
More shocking details came forth: the host of the stadium sent the trainer into the room after the team lost 2-0. The four players were late in coming out and the host saw Stefan groping the testicles of the three teammates. “He was overcome with caressing them and was paying too much attention to them,” according to the report.
“Stefan was the leader of the group, and he has in his file that he was accused and found guilty of consorting with a goat at the age of 15,” said the coach.

An Italian man has claimed that up to 30 top flight footballers have paid him for sex.

<EM>In an interview on TV station La 7 the man, who plays football in the lower leagues, claimed:

Perhaps Les wasn't aware of these incidents...

Pies puts together a team of players who we have seen much more of than we ever wanted to!

Stefan Postma
When footballers sex videos make it into the public domain, embarassment is to be expected. But you unleash a whole new world of shame on yourself when said video contains footage of your girlfriend taking you from behind with the aid of a strap-on. Step forward, Stefan Postma. It could only happen to a Dutch goalkeeper.

Russell Hoult
The then Derby County keeper was filmed having a threesome with a blonde and his mobile phone-wielding mate wearing nothing but his club polo shirt. As you can imagine, his wife and two kids were probably not best pleased when the story made the tabloids.

Ben Alnwick, Chris Brown and Liam Lawrence
The trio were the culprits of the infamous Sunderland orgy sex tape. The seven-minute video features the players having sex with a 16-year-old brunette, with Brown providing a Match of the Day-style commentary throughout!

Rio Ferdinand, Frank Lampard and Kieron Dyer
The England trio got over the disappointment of missing Kevin Keegan's Euro 2000 squad by hitting Ayia Napa. While partying in Cyprus (with a group of footballers including Jody Morris, Jason Euell, Michael Duberry and Jonathan Woodgate) the trio ended up in a hotel room with a group of Spanish girls and a camcorder. As often happens in these cases, the camera was mysteriously stolen and again ended up with the tabloids.

Mark Bosnich
In a secretly rigged-up camera at Dwight Yorke's house, Bosnich was filmed enjoying an orgy with four women and Yorke himself. The video featured the Aussie keeper being whipped and wearing a dress!

Stan Collymore
In contrast to the stolen camcorders of some of his Sex Video XI team-mates, fame-hungry Collymore actually had an injunction taken out against him to stop him selling a sex video to the tabloids. TV presenter, and Sven's former bit-on-the-side, Ulrika Jonsson went to court to prevent Collymore making public a video filmed on holiday in Jamaica.

Leroy Lita
Pies told you yesterday about the Reading striker filming himself having sex on his mobile phone and sending the video to his team-mates. The one minute, 53 seconds clip is know on the mobile phones of footballers all over the country

Les, what happened? Have you lost your mind you stupid old git?

Rebecca Wilson presents more balanced, researched articles than that.

Thanks for the laughs.

LoL.

Is he honestly suggesting that group sex culture in sports is confined purely to Australia?

That's a good one...

I think he means group sex where there is a woman involved, in europe they don't worry about having one present.

The problem is cultural and is apparently unique to Australia. Such sick behaviour, and I refer in particular to mob sex, is rare if not unheard of in most other countries.
I thought europeans invented gang bangs?

Not when there are goats available.

In all seriousness though, this is the type of crap that will hurt the A League. Rugby League fans are also potential/current A League fans and this type of one-sided nonsense won't help them decide to go and see an A League game...

Geez Les, I normally enjoy your articles but that was ridiculous!

As someone who enjoys both sports equally i can confidently say that that was one of the more biased and blatantly false articles I've ever read.

The guy on Triple M of a morning, ugly phil, who has recently returned from working in england said that in the english premier league there are far more issues that happen than in our sports here reguarding player behaviour, and thats without bringing up the use of soap!

He is a decent man. I'll criticise him for f**king up TV deals and his lack of balls with regards to promoting and expanding our sport... but the man himself seems like a good guy.
