who will kick?

Since kimmorley went to the sharks there has only been 2 other kickers (Bird and Jarrad Anderson) and neither of those are available.

I heard off a mate yesterday who played with Hilder that Hilder is an outstanding goalkicker and he even won some goalkicking competition around here (I cant remember specifically what comp - drank too many jugs at Northies)

Otherwise, Simmo

Just a few questions.

Is Merrit right or left foot kicker?

What is the best kick you have ever seen him make?

I remember seeing him bagging a pile in a first division game against the Sharks last season. Snapped a few sweetly from the left sideline, too, so I'm guessing he'd be right-footed.

He is right footed reefy, and i have only really seen him kick last year on the odd occasion for Souths and to me did not seem to bad.

So is he good or not too bad?
Were you at the game or was it televised?
the reason I ask is I think he is a left footer.
I also heard he was an old style toe poker.

Get rieck to kick he needs to ad another string to his bow
ok then he needs a string to his bow because all he hs got is speed and so does vangana merrit and simmonds.
Comon rieck i can just picture it a kick from the sideline merrit and sully sent off sharks are loosing 18-19 and rieck kicks it from the sideline and becomes and instant hero from the sharks and gets a surprise callup to the soo side for next week. then his carear goes great and become a sharks immmortal and scores 230 trys in his carear a new record.

the nrl player of the decade goes to.  Matt Rieck

btw - How good was Merritt with his drop goal from the bloody sideline at the 7s. Geeeez! Over 100 tries scored over two days and he was only 2 or 3 to make it from there.

See heres the problem I have with forum Merrit supporters Lolesi.

Merrit has not kicked this year.

He kicked once on television last year.

His record is 25% 1/4 All in the same game.

yet you have this opinion somehow that he is a good kicker.
Someothers who have never seen him play ever before this year, think that he is a good player. Which based on his form this year, is akin to groupie teenage infatuation.

U see my point?

I do also have foxtel, and i do tend to watch most games.
I have been a fan of Merrit from day one, and i still am, i liked him alot when he was at souths, and i saw him do some good things, I.e kicking goals, i have heard of he's efforts in PL games also, this helps my belief of nathan being a good kicker.
You have your opinions on your players, i have mine, you seem not to agree with mine here, fair enough, but it seems every time i tend to give him a rap your straight down my throat.
When i see yours i respect it, and do not question it, it is yours, its not mine to query and pick every little detail of it.

My point is, Lolesi as an example only, is caught up with the Merrit hype.
he could have only ever seen Merrit kick 4 times at goal. Of which he missed 3.
Now if that person was kicking to save your life, how would you rate him?
I did hear from this Souths loser that he did kick 9/9 in PL game last year.
But that wasn't televised.
In fact, how many games did Merrit play on TV last year?
I will almost go as far to say that Russo has played more.
Where is all the Russo hype? Surely he is a good kicker too as he didn't miss any last year.

I watched Merrit kick 9 from 9 at the footy stadium. There were some tough ones and some not so tough ones but on this occasion he was on fire. If he doesn't get a go this week then he probably never will. Hopefully he nails em from everywhere and we shelve plans to buy El Masri.
