That's what I think. His defensive shortcomings were not so obvious and tiring when the play wasn't run at him every 3rd tackle.

Hunt would probably go to 5/8. Even Micky Ennis can play there if needed.

Hunt is a worse defender than Lockyer.

Ennis is too in-experienced to play five eigth and would be much better off the bench for the Broncs.

Hunt's shortcomings defensively are well documented. He also can't steer the side around like Lockyer.
As for Ennis as a 5/8th the only job I see him doing at 5/8th is as a stop gap option.
I wouldn't mind seeing Lockyer defending at fullback playing at 5/8th and Hunt defending on the wing but playing fullback.

The Broncos made alot of mistakes this year. They shouldn't have re-signed Seymour, they should have re-signed Berrick Barnes, they should have asked Lockyer to not tour for the sake of the club. Give him an off-season back at fullback, and send out:

1 - Lockyer, 6 - Eastwood, 7 - Barnes

Next year. Let Lockyer take up his old game again, and work with a new, youthful halves combination. But since Bennett would rather tour with Locky, I don't mind. I hate the Broncos anyway .

yeah but the thing is Lockyer has never struggled with that component of his game but his defence on the other hand isn't up to scatch. Also he adds alot from kick returns.

Lockyer would own the world if he was in the fullbacks role. I nearly spat when i saw in one of the last broncos games where darren smith run out the line spun, passed and lockyer hit the exact right angle and was so close to scoring. It was the darren of old. And mini i am afraid would be playing on the wing for the kangaroos cause mini is not fit to tie lockyers boots.

Most of you guys are deluded. Lockyer looked good last night: he set up Ben Kennedy (who would have scored if not for a great tackle by Webb), Gasnier and nearly laid on a try in the dying minutes. Fact is he didn't get much ball. Johns had a shocker, seemed to lack spark (was catching the ball standing still) and wasn't getting the ball out to locky and the centres.

And to those calling for Barrett back in the side, did you watch the Dragons play the Tigers? When under pressure he looked hurried and did not make the right choices. Barrett is a lock trapped in a number 6.
