the premier of nsw shares the same disregard of their intellect to such an extent that he says that lockyer needs a minder or coach on what is and isnt funny in regard to the alleged rape of a woman!

Lockyer has very rarely in his career ever said a word out of place, and this time made an error in judgement, whch was extremely out of character. He is certainly not one I would consider a stupid footballer, and going by his previous media engagements, not one who would require instruction in this regard.

It was inappropiate and Lockyer made a mistake. But we are all human and we all make mistakes.

I don't see why such a big fuss is being made of it. He has apologised and I believe is genuinley sorry and regrets that he said it

As bennett has said in the media it was a cross code charity event designed to 'roast each other'. This wasnt the usual kind of joke but an error in judgement can someone name the last time lockyer did something as 'politically incorrect' as this?
The guy hardly speaks about anything besides how the broncos are going, he chose the worst possible time to start, but I dont think it should count against him for captain(which I dont think he'll keep if Johns is fit anyway).

And if he had said it in that situation no one would give a fug. The fact is he didn't. He made light of a situation that is far too serious to be made light of. I cringe when I think of mums seeing the Australian captain laugh about a rape allegation.

He was'nt laughing about the rape allegation he was laughing about a play on words.
There was not a females name mentioned in the joke.
I am not trying to take anything away from the ferocity of rape and the filth that commit it,just trying to make the point that he (Lockeyer)was only making a play on words,but he did it in the wrong place.

The topic? well lots of jokes focus on current issues and they would be a waste of time if told 6 months down the track.
