Hmmm so I guess you could say playing for Souffs is beneath even Orford? I think that's a fairly reasonable assumption. However I think Orford may actually want to help Souffs continue their proud tradition of recruiting players who are past their prime and would only contemplate playing for the joke of the league for one last hefty paycheck before retirement.

Perhaps Orford will say in his retirement, "playing for Souffs was a barrel of laughs, I got paid to stand behind the goal post all season".

Being involved with 50uff$ is a curse, you might as well do it at the end of your career when all hope of premiership glory is already gone. A good example of the 50uff$ curse is Ian Roberts; phenomenal player who deserved to win a premiership. In 1990 he transferred from 50uff$ to Manly, a club building to a real premiership force. In 1995 Manly were clearly the best team in the comp, starting the season with 15 straight wins. Alas they faultered and lost the GF to Canterbury. In 1996 Roberts walked away from Manly to chase the Sewer League dollars and things came together for Manly, winning both the minor premiership and the premiership.

Why on earth would Orford want to play for 50uff$? He has won a premiership and is unlikely to win another one at Homebush. He has a Dally M too. Nothing to gain but coin and it doesn't like the 50uff$ fans are going to be friendly or appreciative.
He'd be best served kicking back on the couch and having a good old LOL at them with us.
