We're just a good side out of luck.

Bad luck that Nathan Merritt couldn't hold on to the ball in open space?

John Lang yelling at that dastard bad luck in the changeroom?

Bad luck that the only things Souffs have won over the past 40 years include...

Bad luck that Souffs were defeated by a Paul Gallen-less Sharks in 2011 and John Sutton couldn't even sort out the kickoff with James Roberts?

Yep that's an NRL team all out of luck. And skill. And a winning culture. And any hope of competing in the 2012 premiership rounds.

That's LOL@50uff$ luck for ya!

Let's combine the two excellent contributions from some11 and alexwilliams:

Since LOL@50uff$ won the minor premiership in 1989 (and then backdoored it in the finals), they have achieved the following results:

1990 - 16/16
1991 - 14/16
1992 - 14/16
1993 - 14/16
1994 - 9/16
1995 - 18/20
1996 - 19/20
1997 - 11/12
1998 - 18/20
1999 - 12/17
2000 - dead
2001 - dead
2002 - 14/15 (saved from the spoon by the dogs)
2003 - 15/15
2004 - 15/15
2005 - 13/15
2006 - 15/15
2007 - 7/16
2008 - 14/16
2009 - 10/16
2010 - 9/16
2011 - 10/16

Their mean finishing position over the last 22 years (not counting the two years they didn't even start) is 13/16. That is a remarkable level of ineptitude, considering a salary cap has been in force for the vast majority of that period.

The thing is, I can remember a number of those seasons where there was a great deal of hope among Bunnies fans that the corner was about to be turned. Luckily for them, hope does spring eternal...

Has their ever been a worse drop off for a minor premiership winning team? We've seen teams go from the penthouse to the outhouse in recent times (Bulldogs went from prelim to spoon recently) but I don't know of a team that has gone from minor premiers/premiers to spooners and continued along the same line for years after. That is an impressive feat and they certainly took one for the lol@50uff$ cause.

I "follow" (loose use of term) Richmond in the AFL. Their last 20 years are eerily similar to Souffs both on and off the field. They are the joke of the AFL. Been stuck in their 60's and 70's glory years whileeveryone else moved on.

They are mired in mediocrity. They have "won" multiple wooden spoons, received record breaking hidings, had laughably bad players and finsihed 9th on several occasions.

They are a joke.

But, even Richmond have made 2 Prelim Finals in the same period that Souffs have made one solitary finals game.

They're worse than Richmond. And that takes some doing.

LOL@50UFF$ FOREVER!

This just in from Goldenrod...

http://forums.leagueunlimited.com/showpost.php?p=7931867&postcount=42

Now I'm not one that normally has positive things to say about Manly (I support the Knights ffs) but such is the unifying power of LOL@50uff$ I think I will on this occasion. It is simply ludicrous that Goldenrod has the audacity to compare his fail club with a winning club by suggesting that Adam Reynolds is going to have the same impact as Daly Cherry Evans.

Manly = club that demands success
Souffs = club that embraces failure

To reinforce my point lets take a look at the performance of both teams over the past 40 seasons.

I've come up with the SK points system.

3 points for a premiership
2 points for runners up
1 point for a minor premiership
-1 for a wooden spoon.

Sea Eagles:

Premierships since 1972: 8
Runners up since 1972: 5
Minor premiers since 1972: 8
Wooden Spoons since 1972: 0
Total Points for Manly: 42
Conclusion: meh nothing impressive

LOL@50uff$:

Premierships since 1972: 0
Runners up since 1972: 0
Minor premiers since 1972: 1
Wooden Spoons since 1972: 5
Total Points for LOL@50uff$: -4
Conclusion: Pride Of The League

Out of interest, does any other club sell pet memberships to bolster their numbers? And does any other club have such a low ratio of average home attendance to membership base?

The downfall post-89 (90, 91, 92, 93) occured because Souths couldn't afford to keep their good players/juniors so they went to other clubs and ended up winning comps for those teams and also playing for their country

The shit house performances year after year is a result of poor recruitment and too much pre-season hype. Will they ever learn? I doubt it.

The club is more worried about coming first in NRL membership then doing anything noteable on the field.

Well this thread is certainly laying the facts on the table...

I think you'll find there is a fear of success at the club, when their fate is in their hands they find a way to f**k it up.

Come on Muzby separating you from the LOL@50uff$ thread is like separating the LOL from 50uff$. It's just not feasible.

You GTFO, you had a bitch about this thread and turned your nose up at it the moment you joined, you don't get to comment now.

f**k off and don't come back.

Damn Cliffy, I don't ever want to get on your bad side  RAWWWRRRR!!!
