You're missing the point.

The referee called "Release". JWH did not release.

Penalty was then the only option.

He INCORRECTLY called release, thats my point.

Similar to blowing time back on when a player takes his head out of the scrum but still stay bound (which was also changed for this year btw)

Everyone in the NRL should be forced to get Mohawks like Mr.T.

Whenever i watch Sam Thaiday or Ryan James take a hitup im always fearfull that they'll get their hair caught in the power sander. Definitely an OHS issue that should be addressed before someone gets seriously hurt.

contact sport - I wouldnt have long hair (beard or head) but others do...personal preference I suppose but you give an extra place for opponents to grab at and verbally abuse you about :)

Lets make it clear...

I don't have an issue with long hair in general (ala Hindmarsh) but when it prevents an effective tackle from being made by drooping down the shoulders, that's when something should be done cause it will lead to penalties.

Lots of tackles are made from pulling a player down from behind especially a fast back like Idris, so when tackling the shoulders are taken out of contention that effectively gives him a massive advantage.

Imagine trying to tackle that without touching his hair in some way, shape or form?
Players should be given 50 bucks for a decent hair yank on this twit, roots and all.
