Long Hair

Hmmm... maybe we should cut fingers off just in case if a player gets near another's mouth it doesn't give them a chance to bite them.... accidently.

Agreed, ban short players too, little fu^%kers have a good chance of pulling penalties for a high shot, tall players have to go as well to be fair, some of the chins on these blokes have me concerned too - not fair on anyone with big shoulders trying to get under them to make a tackle.

Better add rangers to that. Short little rangers would have no chance, and they would get laughed at.

Shouldnt be a penalty but who cares.
If you are stupid enough to have long hair and look like a girl, especially Idris who puts it in pig tails, I for one will dry and rip it out, on the sly of course, I wouldnt tackle him by it.

But seriously it was Jason Ryles, he gets penalties for taking a $hit...basically he does everything wrong

Is this thread serious or a gee up? I thought at first it was a gee up for sure, but the stupidity of a lot of people has me thinking otherwise now

Yeah, players shouldn't be allowed to have long hair because they look like girls.
Also players shouldn't be allowed to shave because only young boys and women have no beards.

Get out the brill cream young man, real men have short back and sides.

I used to have long hair when I played school and junior footy. Never got a penalty for having it pulled, got told "Cut ya hair ya nice person" plenty of times by refs though.

No players shouldnt have long hair then whinge when opposition players try and pull on it.
Its their choice if they want to look like little school girls playing hopscotch with pig tails (Idris)

The majority of players look like little school girls because they have no beards.
How unmanly does Brad Meyers look now compared to before?

Beards, the players cant help bnot being able to grow beards...no dramas.

Players that deliberately put their hair into pig tails....

Lets make it clear...

I don't have an issue with long hair in general (ala Hindmarsh) but when it prevents an effective tackle from being made by drooping down the shoulders, that's when something should be done cause it will lead to penalties.

Lots of tackles are made from pulling a player down from behind especially a fast back like Idris, so when tackling the shoulders are taken out of contention that effectively gives him a massive advantage.

Imagine trying to tackle that without touching his hair in some way, shape or form?

I'd say the bigger turning point was JWH getting penalized for "holding on" after chopping down I believe Paea near half way around the legs, despite the new rules reading:

Dogs scored off the ensuing set to go in at half time up by 2 instead of down by 4

This again.

Look Danish, that's all well and good, but if the referee yells "Release him" and the player does not, then they'll be penalised. Whether you think he should have had another second or two or not, the referee told him to let go and he didn't.
