Wally Lewis for me.
Ricky Stuart used to not only be able to shoot a long ball out but he would often suck in the defenders with it creating the overlap.
Guys like Pearce can pass one but he telegraphs it or does it when its better to put it through the hands.
Ricky Stuart used to also have the best long kicking game, i remember the kicking duel he had with Rowdy in Origin, pegged him right back into his own half. Campese has an enormous boot.
The ability to throw the flat long ball to create space laterally against a fast defence is still the most valuable attribute at Origin level.
Now these blokes are not the longest passers of the ball, but IMO, in this order, the best passers of long balls are:
1. Lockyer
2. Thurston
3. Prince
I think Lockyer threw the longest pass I have ever seen to Willie Tonga in the 2004 Tri Nations final during his amazing first half.
lol, joey kicked one from half way against the storm a while back. albeit a fairly long while back now i guess.Best long range goal kicker I have seen - Cronin. This art, sadly, is dead.
03?lol, joey kicked one from half way against the storm a while back. albeit a fairly long while back now i guess.
As if it was forward!Kiddley used to throw awesome long balls....
Who cares if they were 10-15m forward and hit Carney on the chest to beat canberra?
Sh*t player but Chris Bailey can throw a flat 30 metre pass.
