Extremely entertaining match in NSW Cup...Jets served up a steaming pile of poop in the first half and trailed Manly 38-12 with 20 minutes to go before coming home like an absolute steam train, scoring five unanswered tries in quick time and stealing the match 40-38. Nu Brown scored a solo try in the dying minutes from close range then kicked the winning conversion.

Junior Roqica was very good for Newtown in the comeback and Matt McIlwrick scored two tries.

Does anyone have info on why the U20s game is on the Sunshine Coast & not in Melbourne ?

Quigs , is this near you ? They're playing at SC Stadium on Saturday at 2.45pm.

That's Coolum Country - I'm a good 6 hour drive north of the Sunshine Coast

Storm have a youth academy that is based on the Sunshine Coast and they feed players into the Sunshine Coast Falcons. They play matches there when scheduling allows.

OK. I've just looked at Melbourne's U20 draw & they've only played one match in Melbourne all season - the rest have been on the SC.

Jets went down to Mounties 30-12 in the 1 v 4 qualifying final at Penrith this afternoon. Mounties forward pack was dominant with Jeff Lima, Jarrad Kennedy and Shaun Fensom having very strong games. Nu Brown got his customary solo try and Matt McIlwrick had some good moments, he is running more from dummy half lately and looking more dangerous. Overall though Mounties controlled the game and never looked in danger.

Jets will go on to play the winner of 5 (NZ) v 8 (Penrith) next week.

No probs Cardy! Let's hope NRL is a better result.

Scott Sorenson also had a big game for Mounties. He came up through lower grades at the Sharks and IIRC is the nephew of Sharks greats Dane and Kurt.

The mighty Jets live on and play Illawarra Cutters at Leichardt next Sunday. Hope Cleeland's injury is as bad as it looked, we need his elusiveness near the line

Would players on the fringe of the sharks team like Sennylafao and Beale play in reserve grade next week to see if they can fight their way back into the top 17?

Depends what sort of rules exist, I know in aussie rules, if a player plays in the AFL in a QF and his side wins through to the PF then he cannot play the next week for the 2nds.

BTW I was wondering, why was that game tonight in Penrith???
