You sound mad androtrop.

I'm not the one who brought up FCB I was having a laugh that Podolski would be your target next thing I see is scrubs like you talking shit and mentioning FCB and I'm calling you out on it.

Yeah BvB beat us, so what the f**k does that have to do with anything? We lost to Mainz aswell and we'd still thrash the shit out of you small time pretenders. By your stupid logic we should be crowned the EPL champions.

Lol @ your little cry "RVP starts as goalkeeper" let's see the Arsenlol goalscoring with half the teams league goals scored by one player and next highest is 11 behind lol then throw in his handful of assists and only 8 goals have you scored where he didn't directly get involved.

Keep living in small club land where man of the match awards against Barcelona are relevant and bullshit theories like "we beat team X who beat team A which means we're better than team A despite always getting thrashed by them in history"

smh

I'm starting to think he is one of the derp's troll accounts, this guy actually has a brain though. But they both use the same stupid logic that just because one team beats another who is defeated by another must qualify them as the better team of the three.
Especially considering Spurs beat and drew with Arsenal last year in the league though Arsenal finished higher.

FCB? I'm assuming you mean Bayern, at first i thought you meant FC Barcelona cause they are at least relevant to Arsenal, seeing as they took our best player and have knocked us out over the past two years.

RvP has been in the first team line up consistently for almost 11 months, considering we only play one up top what do you expect us to do? That's the way we play. Why else would someone as shit as Chamakh have 11 goals by Xmas like he did last season.

Haha small club? Arsenal haven't won shit for 6 years now but we're not a small club. We built a state of the art stadium and are the only self sustainable team in the league and we have still made top 4 every year.

I suppose crying about having players out isn't small club?

I'll do you a favor, i'll go post something in the Bayern thread (if i can find it, i don't usually scroll down past the first 7 or 8 threads) and you can go play with yourself in there.

*I'LL TAKE IT!!!

What are we supposed to do? We haven't played Bayern for god knows how long, we obviously don't play in the same league and the only team that we have both played recently is Dortmund.

**That goes without saying doesn't it?

You're an Eels fan so i can't stay mad at you. Plus i get the feeling is argument is cooling down and Oblivion is calling my name. (i doubt my macbook pro could run Skyrim so i downloaded Oblivion to see if it would be worth shelling out $100 bucks to get Skyrim on ps)

Wait, I thought RVP was Arsenal's best player? I'm talking to Bunniesderp here, don't worry.
The fact of the matter at the moment is that RVP is your main focus in attack, and his replacements are not good enough . Podolski would be decent for that but he'd hardly be prolific, not the super-sub that Bunniesderp insinuates.
The fact is you said we'd fa with injuries but neglected to mention that RVP being injured would likely kill your season, if we lose Modric or VDV we have good replacements that still do the job in Defoe and Sandro. Arsenal just do not have that in regards to RVP.

Arsenal the only self-sustainable team in the league? What?

We disagree, that's what sports fans do.
We get worked up on tension, rivalry and adrenaline.
No hard feelings, my opinions of people don't change just because I have a disagreement with them.

Who cares if you lose Modric or VdV, you had both of them last year and finished outside the top 4. If you lost Adebayor you'd be just as fcked as we would be if we lost RvP. You have Defoe as back up, (didn't he go through a goal drought of epic proportions last season?) and Pavlyuchenko. Granted atm i would still take Defoe over Chamakh.

I'd be very surprised is Wenger didn't throw money at a striker in the window. Honestly, at this point it doesn't matter. As long as they can come in when RvP is tired and finish sitters i will be more than happy.

Sorry i meant to chuck in big so it was "only self-sustainable big team in the league" :p

VDV missed quite a few games last year, King was missing pretty much the whole season, Huddlestone, Pienarr, Bale, Hutton, Defoe and so on we're all injured quite frequently or for much of the season too. Defoe is playing superbly at the moment but he is still relegated to the bench, but you can see how we did without VDV and with Defoe up front against Wolves, WBA and VDV at right wing against Liverpool. Defoe is nowhere near the player VDV is but is an out and out striker and feeds superbly off Adebayor like VDV.
It is a similar situation with Modric, if he gets injured any one of Sandro, Livermore or Kranjcar can come in at the moment, plus Huddlestone when he returns. None of them are as good as him but they still do the job, particularly Sandro who should be a starter in the team.
When you look at RVP and Arsenal this year, by many Arsenal fans admission Arsenal would be struggling heavily. Spurs wouldn't be struggling to such a degree because Defoe is in form and Sandro is a beast.

To sum it up the difference between the two teams is that our whole team and our fill ins are playing out of their skins and seem incapable of being overwhelmed even without VDV or Modric or Bale or whoever else, of course though form is temporary, class is permanent.

Adebayor is tougher, knowing Harry he'd bring in Pavlyuchenko if VDV was injured but simply bringing on Defoe if VDV is fit would still work.
Bale is the toughest, either we bring in Pienarr and play more down Lennon's side or we bite the bullet and put Sandro in and have Modric move a little wider.

Haha I'll take that, be prepared for a shift in the balance of power :p

I'd say that's pretty much the difference atm. Your squad players contribute to the team. Whereas we rested one player on the weekend, Gervinho, and brought in Arshavin and it affected the whole team immensely.

It remains to be seen if Adebayor can keep this run of form going. It's been a while since he's performed for a whole year. Not since he scored 30 in a season for us which was what, 3-4 years ago.

As much as i hate you guys, which i have to cause we are rivals and all, i would still choose you to make the four over sheikh city, chelski, the rags and the dippers...just as long as it doesn't mean we miss out.

He is already. Honestly, how many players in our team could do that? RvP? (That probably say more about the state of our team than it does Oxlade though)

He's a massive talent and after coming up against players like De Jong and Zabaleta yesterday and raping them for 86 minutes i'm sure Wenger will be inclined to give some time to rest Theo, and possibly RvP with Theo moving into striker (hopefully).

Word is they want 30m for Gotze. Word is we've offered 25 but are willing to go to 30.

And the synics who say Wenger will be too tight to spend 30 million... keep in mind he isn't just getting Gotze for that 30m, he's probably also getting RVP's signature on an extension.

The potential of a Wilshere-Gotze midfield partnership could keep him around.

Ok nvm...

http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/transfer-news/Arsene-Wenger-denies-Arsenal-are-set-to-buy-Mexican-striker-Marco-Fabian-article837530.html

Arsene Wenger has insisted Arsenal are not interested in controversial Mexican midfielder Marco Fabian.

Chivas star Fabian's family insist in the Mexican press that he is on the brink of joining Arsenal in a £6m move in January.

Fabian even insists he wants a rivalry with Manchester United's Javier Hernandez in the Premier League.

But when asked if he was interested, Wenger said today: "No. It is just an agent who wants to sell a player."

Fabian has been involved in controversy as he shared a bad taste goal celebration, pretending with a team mate to shoot someone in the head (see the pic above).

Furthermore, Fabian was also suspended from the national set-up by the Mexican FA along with six other team mates following a wild party allegedly involving prostitutes.

Hazard, Gotze and Thiago are all Golden boy award nominees (along with Wilshere). Those four are the best young players on the planet, if we could have 2 of them in the centre of our midfield, it would go a long way to putting us right back in contention.

My personal choice would be Gotze, but I'd be delighted with Hazard or Thiago. But of the three Thiago would be the hardest to get, he's already at a big club, and not just any big club but the biggest of the big.

Gotze and Hazard are at small clubs and are obviously looking for a move. Gotze is even saying through sources that he likes Arsenal.

Getting Thiago would be so much harder, we tried to get him in the Fabregas deal and Barca wouldn't budge.

Just had to re-quote this, Neymar says hi.

Two goals in two minutes! And neither by RVP! It's sad that goals not scored by him make me excited because it makes me feel like we're less of a 1 man team.

First up was a long range effort from Arteta that moved in the wind (very windy day at the ground).

Then very soon after, from a corner Vermaelen scores with a header...we don't score many from corners so that's always pleasing.

Vermaelen stays fit the rest of the season and he's a lock for PL 1st 11.

Edit: just read a stat about our lack of skill at corners. That verminator goal was our first in our last 179 corner attempts.

Bunniesderp harping on as usual.
4-nil, good win.
I await the inevitable Bunniesderp "we are in the best form of any team at the moment" post.

How can that be true? RvP scored off a TV5 tip on from a corner against Dortmund less than two weeks ago.

Oh wait, i'm guessing it means in the PL. When was our last one in the PL? Squillaci's against Stoke...Koscielny's against Everton? Cant remember which one happened last.

Yeah I presume it's only PL. And I've forgotten it's been that long.

boxderp. I'm not quite that excited yet, 4-0 against Wigan is par IMO. I'm just glad the 4-0 didnt involve 3 RVP goals and a RVP assist.

All of a sudden we're 5th and just 2 points from top 4.

Chelsea play Man City next. We play Everton. A very very very very good chance to be back in the top 4. 10 weeks ago we'd have settled for getting back in the top 4 by the end of the season. Who would have thought we might be there in the 1st half of December.
