The most frustrating thing is Wenger chose to play him when we were getting smashed against United, and hasn't since.

If he was mature enough to handle that, I think he could have handled any of the games since.

Even at his youth and inexperience he looks to have more finishing skill than Gervinho or Walcott. And even if Wenger thinks he's not upto 90 minutes of PL action just yet, there is no reason he can't be our forward off the bench instead of Arshavin/Chamakh.

In the City CC game he made Zabaleta look like an amatuer. Then 2 weeks later Theo is in Zabaleta's pocket.

God knows why Wenger doesn't think he's worthy of a starting spot, let alone time off the bench.

He had half the amount of chances Arshavin had against Leeds but still looked the player most likely to score while he was on the field. His Ronaldo chop that got him past two players was something Walcott couldn't even do on FIFA.

I said that at the time.

Wenger put a few kids into a situation that was going very badly and could of really held up a few guys careers.
There was him and your fullback, Jenkinson i think, who must of been wondering what was going on.

He looks like a good prospect, but there is a leap between looking good and making it.

To much to soon and he could go down the Theo route.

6 goals half way through the season, pretty hard to argue any other way

if he wants €180K a week when Citeh decide to let him go at the end of the season, he can find another club, he aint worth that much

9 goals and 6 assists. Pretty sure I read he has the most assists of any striker.
That's hardly what I'd call disappointing, although in saying that he should have another 4 or so goals to his name.

f**k off troll. If you're going to come here at least have something meaningful to say like Arsenal fans do whenever we go to other teams threads.

On topic, you pay peanuts you get monkeys. We have tens of millions collecting interest in the bank but we totally refuse to spend to buy players we need.

If you keep playing centrebacks out wide you will get exposed by any team that passes decently. And Swansea is one of them.

Now we're 4 points out of the top 4 again, with plenty in the bank, due to make a massive profit. No other big clubs fans have to tolerate that.

How many other bosses would kill puppies to have the cash we have and yet Gazidis and Wenger save it like it's their own superannuation.

Disgusting performance. Arshavin is rubbish. If it wasn't for Walcott scoring an equalizer he'd be on the same par as Arshavin. Ox should've come on a lot earlier... and Rosicky should've started instead of Benayoun.

We have no respect for keeping possession. The amount of times we give the ball away to the opposition is absolute rubbish. I'm so sick of this. Every year it's the same shit... if this continues, get ready for losing RVP in the summer. It's going to be a long long long next few seasons if nothing changes.

Agreed, agreed and agreed.

We were horrible and retaining posession. Something which in my opinion, the squad is generally pretty good at doing. It shows how much we missed Arteta. Benayoun isn't a CM, Ramsey had an off night and Song was atrocious. I lost count of the amount of times Song and Ramsey gifted the ball away. Sometimes several times within a few minutes.

Playing fourth and fifth choice CB's as FB's against two very quick wingers was always going to be a struggle. For me, Miquel did a lot better than expected. He may have been guilty of being out of position for the second goal, but generally I thought he was tenacious, committed and won a fair amount of tackles.

Koscielny was once again our best player. The only b*stard who showed any amount of passion during the entire game. The worst part is that I was tired as f*ck all day at work - thanks Arsenal.

Vermaelen will be back for United and Per will be 100% - there are a few positives.

I've lost patience with Arshavin. My favourite Arsenal player has now become the player I'm most ashamed of. Ship him out and buy a true winger who can play on the left or right - someone like Marko Marin would be handy...

Shaqiri would be another gettable guy who'd be a much better version of Arshavin.

We need a quality leftback. We should have signed one a week ago.

Agreed - wouldn't be more than 15m I imagine?

The Aly Cissokho rumours were doing the rounds again last week, how much I'd love to have him in the squad. The only negative about signing a third LB, is the immediate need to find a suitor for either Santos or Gibbs. Preferably the former as Gibbs is a valuable 'Home Grown' squad member.

Xherdan Shaqiri a great prospect certainly, is also a player who has played all of his domestic football in Switzerland.

Awful January signing for any big club, simply because you would be holding up a young player in mid season who has never played a match of senior football in one of the big 4 leagues (EPL, La Liga, Serie A or Bundesliga before you ask) as some sort of saviour.

Disaster waiting to happen for both Le Arse and Xherdan.

Thought you bought a Brazilian fella in the summer?

Agree with this answer regarding Shaqiri.

If you got him now, he would be horrible for the rest of the season. Another good youngster, who may be good one day is not what you need.

Anyways you have Ox. Knows the English game, has something about him. Can't do any worse than Arshavin. You have him, so why replace him with Shaqiri?

Its like you play like you always did. But the players are just not as good anymore. They are still capable of turning in a one off performance but there is no consistency.

Ramsey is often guilty of giving the ball away. You are badly missing Wilshire in the mid, as a guy to put his foot on the ball and look up.

I'd worry about Per if I supported Arsenal. Yes he is rubbish on the ball, and to slow but he was that big guy you needed. Against Swansea though he was beaten in the air to many times.

Don't know if you can watch it, but the MOTD analysis of the Swansea third goal is good. Basically from the kick off, everyone is stood in the wrong place (three players in the right wing pos and Rosicky nowhere near his (left) wing). Simple things that a top club should not do.

If Wenger wants to play Arshavin... play him properly. He is not a winger.. he doesn't track back, which leaves too much pressure on our fullback. He should be played just behind the front line of attack where he can play more of a roaming role around the edge of the box, setting up balls for RVP or our wingers. Wenger will never do this though... so get rid of him because he is not being utilised properly.

We missed Arteta, but it's a bit sad when we are so desperately relying on Wilshere to return, the kid is an absolute gun... but our squad depth is that horrible that we have to rely on a 20 year old who has only really had one season in the top league to give us some spark. It's so f**king obvious to everyone that we need to spend $$$$ but Wenger and the shitty board. That is the most frustrating thing. We can't sub players like Ramsey, Song, RVP to try something new when things aren't going well because we have no one good enough to replace them with. We then lose our composure when we are behind, and boot the ball up the pitch aimlessly hoping it miraculously falls at RVP's feet one on one with the keeper.:crazy::crazy::crazy::crazy:

Things to consider :

* It is without doubt that the loss was ultimately down to Arsenal's inability to convert changes, retain possession and maintain focus when needed. Swansea's quality of play also contributed. However, I am sick to the t*ts of garbage penalty decisions both going against Arsenal and all too frequently not for Arsenal. Dyer clearly fell over, and actually fouled Ramsey in the process. Yet Oliver decides to award the penalty :

It's not the reason that Arsenal lost, but it certainly helped.

* Per missing a perfect opportunity 2 metres out. Even with 38 metre long legs, chances like this are converted 99% of the time.

* Ramsey's point- blank header saved. Same as above.

* RvP's one V one, which going on 2011 form, he should have converted with his nose whilst blindfolded.

I think that Arsenal created enough chances to win. Scoring two goals against a side who have only conceded four goals at home in ten games should be enough to win. We terribly missed Vermaelen and Arteta. These two guys, Rvp and The Szcz are Arsenal at the moment.

Arsenal rarely play this badly two games in a row (ignoring the Old Trafford and Blackburn disasters). Maybe United @ The Emirates has come at a welcome time.

Re: Shaqiri, I never suggested to get him and make him an auto first XI selection from day one. Bringing him in slowly like AOC would be ideal.

AOC is ready to play, and Arshavin is still there, Shaqiri could be bought and given 15 minutes a game in the right situations until next season.

A LB like Cissokho is needed too.

Shaqiri and Cissokho. Not asking for too much. Not asking for Neymar and Lahm. Less than 25m would get the two easily.

Im stipping Shaqiri to be picked up by a super club in the Summer window. No way he leaves Basel now.
