Yes, he played well, didn’t he. Though, he’s had a star stamped on him for a while.
He’ll be ready when Api finally pulls the pin.
We have some good kids coming through, you can at least see a light at the end of our long dark tunnel.
I think we'll struggle to keep him at the club for 3 years behind Api.
The world has changed and young people don't like waiting for a long time for something to become available. Especially when he sees others his age playing first grade for the tigers, week in and week out. Unfortunately, this is just the way it is. Not saying anyone is right / wrong.
From next year, at a minimum, I think we'll have to have to have him as the 14. I don't think Api is an 80 minute player anymore so this could work out. Give him 10 mins either side of the half time break.
Personally I don't like playing 2 hookers due to different styles of play and the halves especially having to adjust each time there is a change. I think if we want to keep TDS we'll have to do something like this. I still feel like it won't be good enough to keep him at the tigers. As soon as another club comes knocking with the promise of an immediate starting spot he'll take it.
