He isn't signed for those last 3 years. He has a 1.2 million option in his favor for 3 years. I don't see how anyone can say that is a good deal for us. We've given him that option to get him to sign for 2 years.

It's amazingly stupid and one sided and the announcement about him signing for 5 years is BS. On top of that everyone's favorite CEO has spun bullshit about that contract until the press somehow found out the details. He is playing supporters like dummies.

If we had a mutual option for those last 3 years it'd be great but that doesn't seem to the case.

Have you read the Bula last year contract. That makes more sense. He can go to market if we aren't prepared to pay him 900k or he accepts 800k. That is a significantly better contract.

In stating all of that I don't give a toss because 2 years is a long time. Let's see what happens.
So if the tigers said no they would've had a lot of money leftover on the salary cap with a rubbish roster. They're at the bottom of the ladder they have to offer more then the other clubs to get a player like Luai. A lot of the star players have clauses like this not just Luai

this time last year 99% of fans were telling us $1.2m was too much and 5 years was too long

now fans are telling us it’s a bad thing it might only be a 2 year deal 😂

After his 2024 you could say Luai is a top 5 player in the comp, we’re the worst team for the last 3 years, I don’t blame him for having those clauses (however my gut is that it’s to tie in with the new tv deal, and he’s just week by if he can get a bit more $$)

That's it Kenty, finally a bit of optimism.
Can you please read me a bedtime story and tell me everything will be ok. :)

And Richie is an astute football manager, both man management and football club management. He is no dill.

It was good to see them early.
I was a tad worried about Taruva's knee as noone could tell me if it was a problem.
Seeing that clip of him running freely without a brace has made me feel a lot more confident.
Are we playing this weekend?

So he will be free to negotiate with other clubs come 1 November 2025. One assumes he won't have to decide to take up the first of the PO's ( 2027) until a certain round in 2026.
