In all seriousness, all the talk about winning, premierships, mate ship etc etc the money he is apparently being offered and the length of the deal basically make it an easy decision. He can’t turn the deal down and if he never plays SOO, or Semi Final football again he and his family will be able to console themselves in the knowledge, they will be in a strong financial position post football days. He won’t have any regrets, however much he may miss the rep honours and playing football In September and October.

I don’t really understand the emphasis being put on the rather innocuous comments made by Ivan Cleary.

As Luke Bowden correctly pointed out they have no bearing at all on Jerome’s decision.

It appears likely Jerome has been made a confirmed offer too good to refuse, it is that simple.

I think he will have regrets, he is a winner and won't like losing. He most definately would want to play rep footy.

I agree. I believe Jarome will struggle with losing. I don't care how good the money is, Jarome will struggle big time with this.

As the all know the W/T faithful have a nasty habit of killing and eating their own when the team is not winning. Look at the poo put on Api during last season. Never mind the rubbish that Brooks had thrown at him.

I doubt whether Jarome has considered this......his not the type that will sit back and let poo be put on him either. It could end up as a nasty car crash.

No amount of money eases what I've mentioned.

In all the debate about any regrets Jerome may or may not have going forward, you also have to consider what if he takes the current deal on offer from our club, allegedly 2 year extension $1.7 million. He sustains a career ending injury in 2025 or 2026, medically retired from the game. I think it is fair to say he would have significant regrets at that point about not taking the 4 year $4.4 million. I know I would. Major regrets.

IF he stays... I doubt it is only for 2 years

He was gone when he signed with Black money. You don't take unders with them.

Ivan's comments were silly and reeked of desperation. Unnecessary. He like Fletcher should have zipped it.

Them going to clubs with a $1.2m price tag, ruled us out

We keep enough expensive players Alice; we just prioritised the likes of Edwards, Yeo, Leota, Martin, To’o (all signed to extensions this year) over Luai. That isn’t having a go at Jarome, it’s just a simple fact that we can’t keep them all.

If you believe Chammas - I do. He is close to both club and player.

We actually tried to re-sign Luai before the season started. Manager issues are well known, We just have a $ in mind and stick to it

No bearing? I don't think so, otherwise Luai wouldn't have put up the infamous 'Know your worth' Insta post.

That sort of stuff is red rag to a bull for someone with a personality like Luai. I would know - I was a lot like him when I was young (minus the footy talent).

I have seen very little poo being flung in Api's direction. Nearly everybody respects him, friend or foe. Lovers and haters.

Look back at mid season. Quite a bit of dung being flung towards Api, and the rest of the team.

Imagine Jarome going to W/T on huge money. In 2025 Jarome and W/T have a poor year.

There will be poo flying from everywhere especially the W/T faithful. Can you imagine Jarome NOT responding...........

If it happens it will be a train wreck.

The club has tried many paths to get a deal done. With his old management. The possibility of deal without a manager, and with his new management.
The club even went against their earlier stance and increased their original figure.
The club have done as much as they can.

Its either success or money. He can't have both here. He appears to have made his choice.
The rest is just BS for optics.
