I thought Miller was their big half prospect.

But it isnt a question of talent, it's a question of not wanting dickheads in your team.

Sad if charges are dropped, cycles of domestic violence are pretty tragic to witness

NRL player Robert Lui repeatedly kicked his partner in the head after Mad Monday celebrations, police will allege when the Wests Tigers halfback fronts court this week.
The Sun-Herald has obtained the apprehended violence order issued against Lui after an incident involving Taleah Rae Backo at the couple's North Strathfield apartment on September 19.
According to the document, police allege Lui kicked Backo ''to the left temple area a number of times causing pain, bruising and swelling''.

Lui allegedly scaled the balcony of the second-floor unit at 7pm and knocked on the glass sliding door. Backo hid around the side of the door.
When she opened the door, Lui pushed her in the chest, causing her to fall backwards. Police allege the Tigers playmaker then pulled her hair, causing a small amount of hair to be removed along with a hair pin causing ''pain to the head area''.
It is alleged Lui then kicked Backo while she was on the ground, accusing her of sleeping with his cousin. Lui then dragged her towards the front door of the unit and told her to get out, the document alleges.
After walking outside to an area below the balcony, Backo called up for her wallet. After Lui refused, she called police.
When police arrived shortly afterwards, Lui was still on the balcony shouting abuse at Backo. When police asked to access the unit, they were told: ''No, f--- off.''
Police allege Lui changed his mind shortly afterwards and was arrested. When the allegation was put to him, Lui said: ''I didn't kick her, I headbutted her.''
Backo agreed to give police a video statement and to have her injuries photographed, which included bruising and swelling around the temple, approximately five by eight centimetres.
Lui stated he had consumed two cases of Vodka Cruisers - each containing 24 x 375ml bottles with an alcohol content of 4.8 per cent each - since Friday, September 16, after the Tigers were eliminated from the premiership race by the Warriors.
Lui was charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm and granted bail. He agreed to the terms of the AVO, which prevents any contact between the pair without prior agreement through legal representatives.
The matter is set to return to Burwood Local Court on Thursday.
The Sun-Herald contacted Lui's manager, Mark Stewart, yesterday, but he did not return calls. The Tigers have stood down the halfback from all club duties pending the outcome of court proceedings.
Last year, Backo reported a domestic assault and Lui was charged. The matter was dismissed in court after Backo changed her story.
In August, there was a report of a verbal argument between the two, but no offence was handed down.

48 cruisers, oh dear. I had 24 on my 21st and didn't feel the need to get angry...

Now obviously he's owed the presumption of innocence, but IF found guilty he shouldn't just get a lifetime ban from the NRL, he should get thrown in jail. Doing what he's accused of is just disgusting and it is literally inexcusable.

So he's charged with kicking her in the head, but says it was a headbutt?

And he drinks Vodka Cruisers?

Not sure a bloke like that is needed in the NRL.

She was scared to let him in, got shoved down, then kicked repeatedly. Despite that she only called the police when he wouldn't pass her wallet.

Hope Lui gets sacked and deregistered. Shouldn't be playing NRL.

There are some interesting points raised in this thread

1. Why should we ban him when we haven't banned other players?
2. Why would a grown man drink bitch piss?
3. Why haven't the Tigers sacked him already?
4. How can Bunniesman have had experiences that cant have occurred yet?

I'll tackle the first point though.

I'm not one of the ban em and burn em brigade - in fact I prefer to allow someone the chance of rehabilitation rather than stringing them up by the family jewels at the first whiff of naughtiness. There have been other players that have been involved in domestic incidents. Greg Inglis, Greg Bird and Greg "Anthony" Cherrington that haven't been banned so why ban Greg "Robert" Lui?

On the face of it - simply banning people called Greg seems like a good idea, but there might be confusion with Gareths and both of them are squeaky clean, so we might have to hold off on that one.

I think the difference between the other "slap me bitch up" gang members and Lui is that he is a repeat offender. He was previously involved in an issue and he didn't learn from it. Statistics that haven't been made up to prove a point in an arguement do show that repeat offenders are far more likely to keep on keeping on than suddenly becoming the sort of citizens that win awards for their huge manatees.

On top of that, there is the severity of the alleged assault. Throwing a glass object in anger, kicking a door in or grabbing someone and hurting them in the process could be forgiven if it's a one off event - however grabbing someone by the hair and kicking their brains in goes well beyond "stupid" and even bypasses utter f**kwittery before landing in an area of complete unforgiveable disgrace.

He had his visit to the last chance saloon previously, now it's time to accept he is both a duche and turd sandwich and vote him out.

Oh - if he does play again (which I seriously doubt) I hope the supporters of Wests Tigers and all the other clubs in the NRL show their disgust by turning up to the games with banners denouncing him and the club.

Forget about the assault charges, someone that stupid shouldn't be allowed out in public.

"i didnt kick her, i headbutted her."

you're really got to question his thinking process if he actually did say this.
