Didn't this happen same time last year? What a tosser. If the charges get dropped (which often happens in cases of domestic abuse) then the NRL should deregister him anyway.

Could the NRL say that being charged twice in a year for beating your missus brings the game into disrepute ?

they could do whatever they liked

unless he's found gulty then what has he done wrong?

last time all charges were dismissed

I don't think Lui will have any grounds to sue if he is deregistered or sacked.

His contract at the Tigers ends this year and he has yet to sign an extension, or with another team that I'm aware of.

I think its pretty obvious why they should be punnished more.

They are in the public view much more. They are idolised by children. Their image is imperitive to the games advancement financially and the continued survival of the clubs and the code.

They need to know more than anyone else that their actions are under much greater scrutiny and they need to act apropriately.

Thought it was too good to be true to expect to go through a fianls period/off season with no dramas. Well done Lui on maintaining the consistency in player f***ups!

Let the courts do their job and if the proven guilty he has to be flicked, everyone deserve a second chance but no one deserve a third chance. Domestic violence is not a minor charge you sweep under the carpert, its serious stuff

I can't agree. Punished ....yes. More/double/triple.....? No.

The law is the law and as long as they are being punished and not being excused for their illegal actions because of their "fame" then that, as a society, should be all we are allowed to expect.

They can be made an example of to the community by being punished in a fair and just manor.

Yes,it is Sam's neice.
And having spoken with Sam a few years back, he is very protective of his family. If Lui has hit his wife, he'll be hoping he goes to jail, because if big Sam gets a hold of him, well, he won't be playing footy again, cos his legs will be firmly entrenched up his arse

I got nothing against that kind of "in-house" punishment ........

And when has that happened?

If players knew they would receive harsher penalties for breaking laws, they'd think twice before breaking them.

But instead, every sports governing body feels obliged to protect their athletes from the law as much as possible.
