Lui pleads guilty to girlfriend assault and banned for one year by ARLC

Should Robert Lui be deregistered by the NRL?

Id be interested to know did they do anything to adress the situation from last year, or were they just glad they dodged a bullet.

I'm guessing that whatever counselling was given to Lui and his girfriend was probably along the lines of "kiss and make up, and you really don't want to ruin his career, do you?"

Next year, the club should buy her a holiday, anywhere, so she's out of town when Mad Monday comes around.

Why weren't their calls for Benji Marshall to be de-registered after he got charged with assault? Let Lui have his day in court.

Souths sacked Junior Vaivai earlier this year after he pled guilty over a domestic violence charge but he was back playing first grade for Penrith before the season was out.

Only f**kwits belt their partners.

This guy was changed with the same thing this time last year?
I hope the Mrs thinks twice about reconciling this time, for her own sake as well as that of her kid.

Mustn't like being bundled out of the semis much... either that or he thinks he's Jake the Muss? Let him have his day in court, but if found guilty the Tigers should act, and the NRL should de-register him for the period of his contract in support.

If it pans out that way, will the Tigers come and take Morts off Parra's hands for 2012 onwards... :sarcasm:

The point is where do you draw the line? If you're going to de-register one player because he gets charged with an offence, shouldn't the consistency be to de-register every other player when they get charged with a similar offence?

West have probably done the right thing by standing him down. But we shouldn't be going around de-registering players until they have their day in court.
