In regards to DA and Co being unemployable. When SK has been coaching at the top level for that long, then come and talk about being an unemployable coach

If SK continues at his current rate he'll be more unemployable as a coach than Terry Lamb or Paul Langmack. At least clubs will take interest in DA, Taylor or Hagan if not as head coach but as an assistant.

cherry picking is quite easy , give me a go

Hagan won a premiership in his first season, so he must be better than Mal Meninga who never won an NRL comp as coach. Your turn...

Brian Smith has been coaching first grade for nearly 30 years and never won a premiership.

Yet is still able to hold down an NRL head coaching job.

Stats aren't the best gauge of a coach's ability in either the long or the short term.

Tell me this

who has the better side SK 2012 or DA 2010?

Ask me again at the end of 2012.

At his current rate his team is starting to gel now that he has all his toys on the field at the same time. Last year it was no halves, whereas the first four rounds this year it was no Hayne.

Surely you agree those are fairly mitigating circumstances. And prior to Kearney arriving at the club we had a plethora of great offloaders that somewhat hid our lack of halves talent. However they had all left the club by round 1 2011.

At least clubs will take interest in DA, Taylor or Hagan if not as head coach but as an assistant.

Sure, if Kearney's coaching record was repeated over the next 30-odd games his career would be f**ked, but why would you think the team wouldn't improve now that everyone is fit? Or at least fit-ish.

What you call mitigating circumstances I call excuses. Our team looked good for parts in the Manly match but have gone backwards once again since that. They are still not gelling, they are still not playing as a team.

Why would you think they would when they look like they have no confidence, and individuals look like they have no faith in their team-mates? We can ask rhetorical questions all day Poupou.

I guess all you cando is wait until the season pans out. There's no way Kearney will get the arse this year and it's very unlikely he won't see out his contract.

Personally I think we've looked promising the past three weeks. I'm disappointed Burt is back in the side on the f**ken wing. He offers nothing there.

Personally I think both the Knights and Sharks gave us every opportunity to win against them but we didn't take it. Thankfully neither side played well on those given days or our for and against would 40 points worse off.

They are the second and fourth best defensive sides in the NRL so far. And they both defended very well against us too.

They defended well because we threw nothing at them in attack, despite both sides coughing up a lot of ball in their own half. It's easy to defend well when the offense aren't testing your you and you can see every play coming.

yup

We have the 16th best attack, 16th best defence, and we sit in 16th position

The fact they defended well across all their games this year points to them having good defence. That's why they held us out. That's why we attacked well against Manly and the Warriors. It's not a matter of forgetting how to score against the good defensive sides. You people need to consider the whole picture.

With Hayne in the team we have scored ten tries to eleven. Stop trying to turn it into a melodrama.

so without one man, Jarryd Hayne, we should be content to lose by about 40 all the time .... cool, glad we've cleared that up, lets move on

here's one to think about...Esi Tonga has not been named at any grade and as far as I can see he's not injured either...

well I did mention a few weeks back that I'd be willing to pay his plane fare back to the Gold Coast

I'd have to say that wing is the only spot Burt can play FG these days.

At FB he might be passable in attack, but in defence it's a try everytime there's a linebreak [just look at a few games from last year]

At least his defensive deficiencies are mostly hidden on the wing - the only one that stands out is the crossfield bombs (does he get a brown stain in his underpants everytime someone kicks one towards him??)

I know you think Kearney is bowing to the pressure of the fans in picking Burt - but I'm not so sure?
It's either Burt or Esi or Morgan. Esi or Morgan would play C, they've both been horribly exposed defensively over the last few weeks. Esi probably cost us the game against Cronulla with his "efforts".
So coachK has decided to put Blair at center (his natural position?) - now the wing spot is up for grabs.
Esi = no.
Morgan or Burt? Morgan probably better on the wing - but Burt has the experience. We want an experienced campaigner there to help Blair settle in his first couple of games as a center I suppose.

Kind of makes sense? Choice of 3 terrible defenders, go with the one who is the best finisher?

Of course it might well be a big smokescreen and Vai Toutai is debuting at center this week....

He is an unknown quantity.

Unlike Anderson, Hagan and Taylor who know are unemployable.

How do you know they want to coach?

Hagan made it clear that he could not handle the new generation of players as a head coach.

You don't know their circumstances, why pretend you do?

Maybe they are happy not to go through the bullshit that goes along with being a head coach!

Difference with the above 3 is that they have ALL made a finals series with multiple clubs.........SK is in his second battle for the wooden spoon in his second attempt.........he has been awesome!!

Shell it out already Twizz. Don't just offer, buy the ticket and give it to the club.

If the club ASKS you to take up your offer, then technically it's a club arranged thing and needs to count against the salary cap. If you do it off your own bat, then it's not counted.
