I saw a few and just could not watch anymore. Hated the idea when they first announced it, especially since the last episode of season 8 was called 'My Finale'.

It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia is by far the best comedy still running.

I don't mind Its Always Sunny. Every episode I've watched has made me laugh out loud, but for some reason I can't watch more than an episode at a time without getting bored.

Seems like a lot of people in our generation go through a Scrubs phase. Can understand why too, it's a balanced show that's quick on the jokes yet has the ability to frame a compelling story.

Like anything though, it became too excessive in both departments and seemed like a bipolar wreck.

*JD falls over*

Canned Laughter: Hahahahaa

*Coldplay wannabe song starts playing*

Audience: Awwwwww........

rinse and repeat

Well there was no laugh track or live audience but yes that's what it became. All the characters became caricatures as well.

Probably my criticism of Community, and it happened really quickly. Britta, Shirley, Troy especially

I've been working my way through Parks and Recreation lately. I started watching the first season years ago when it first came out, but really struggled with it because I pretty much saw it as a poor clone of The Office. Only finished watching the first season a few weeks back, then started straight on season 2, and I'm glad I did. It's been getting better and better with every episode. Andy is, by far, the best character on that show.

Season one of Parks was awful. S2-4 are pretty consistently quality though, season 5 was also pretty good. S6 has been a bit average I think.

Troy, if anything, became less of a cliched caricature as the show went on. He gained a whole lot of depth beyond his 'jock' persona.

Season four has a few very good episodes, but a lot of it feels like you're watching a Maltese knock-off of the real thing.

Season five has, thus far, been really good.

That was my initial impression too. I just couldn't get into something that felt so much like a clone of the US office.

#5 - The Wire

The_Wire.jpg

Praised for its gritty and realistic portrayal of both law enforcement and other departments within the crime hub that is Baltimore, The Wire's unflinching devotion to realism and its fantastic selection of actors earned it a cult following in the days before HBO was renowned for big budget mega-hits.

With each season a mini reboot focusing on a different aspect of Baltimore life, the show constantly reinvented itself introducing new characters while following the development of previous characters in a constantly evolving world. One of the all time classics of both its genre and drama in general.

Probably my favourite or second favourite show.

When I grow up, I want to be Bunk Moreland.

I'm guessing the top 4 will include The Simpsons, The Sopranos & Breaking Bad (incidentally, this would be similar to mine).

No real idea what the other one will be... Dexter?

Oh yeah... derp. I knew I was forgetting something obvious.

I forgot to submit mine (like I do with all these lists) but so far it's looking likely the top 7 would be my top 7, albeit in a different order.
