I have watched brown with interest over the last seasons and I have to say he is no world beater

on the same token he is usually safe and strong in defence and reads well

so well that the current most successful coach of the last 5 years selected him regularly in his enormously successful side last year

Fair points.

It took us just 1 game to re-Cronullify him.

I understand Hasler picked Brown. However who was Brown keeping out of First Grade over there? Hasler didn't have Holmes or Gagan to pick instead of him. I guess we'll never know if Hasler had that choice who he would have chosen.

Also, it's no as if Hasler bent over backwards to keep him..

I don't hate Brown. I think he is a solid player, a great depth player. Better than Stapleton and Grothe and others we have had in his position the past few years. Had he been here for a few years previous to this year, he would have been an automatic selection. I just think the other guys deserve a shot in front of him. Time will tell.

Did he even play a game in reggies? I know he screwed his back or neck in a trial but thats the last i recall of him playing an actual game for us.

Zero Point talking about this anymore......

You are the expert in everything and everything sharks and footy.

We should of hired you as coaches assistant and we would of won by 40 on the weekend, Holmes would of got 10 trys and not a single mistake would of been made in the first round.
Don't know we would've won by 40 - but the team would've had their minds on the job and would've turned in a better performance.

Best bet of the weekend will be whoever plays Canberra.

We made them look like a football side...... They are in the dangerous position mentally of not knowing how good they are travelling.
They won but beat the keystone cops.

Dickhead Stuart will be thinking he is master coach getting them over the line.

Truth is he was lucky - he came up against a side that was worse prepared than his mob. By his clone.

Be funny it wasn't my team.

Last time Flano was coach we almost made the Grand Final .
But he didn't win the grand final... so it seems one game away is good enough since he hasn't changed anything with our gameplay or style?

Same coach did the same thing with Jonno Wright.... you want him back too?

Nor is round 1 a fair basis for assessment, especially given the last time he had a full season with us we nearly made the GF.

We got the spoon as a direct result of Asada which Flanno is responsible for.

wasnt a full season. missed round one and two.
he has only had one full season. 2012.

Over 12/13 He went 25-20-1 regular season. With Toddy involved in the team etc

All other years

2-5 2010
7-17 2011
0-1 2015

9-23 sans the todd influence.

so it's interesting, the whole flanno stats stuff.

barba needs time to gel into the side with ennis etc.

Great man manager. great recruiter. does he get the best out of his players? is he a tactitian?

i would say no.

IMO, the injuries were the main cause however if Flanno didn't get suspended for his "involvement" in ASADA, I doubt we get the spoon either.

Injuries hurt us of course. But if Flanno does his job and the players don't get on the peds then there are no dramas and we continue on from the promising season we had the year before. Carney probably doesn't get loose all season and we make the semis. All downhill the moment Flanno dropped the ball.
