He has Ricky's skills of developing young players.

...varying his 'game plan' to suit opposition.

Hhhm... I'd say it's around 42 - 43% tops.
Over 26 rounds that's 10 - 11 wins.
That gets us out of the semis.
Flanno had the chance to shut the majority of us up before round 1 by picking Holmes over Brown. We all know who he selected and it just happened to be Brown was worst on ground noteably when he dropped that sitter of a ball that cost us at a vital time in the match.

price was good assistant coach
I agree
drop everyone who drops a ball
except at a 'non-vital time of the match'
that'll fix it
Last time Flano was coach we almost made the Grand Final .
Last year without flano we came last.
As for Bird and Holmes Flano had them play the 9's and trials .
He is very aware of them and that in itself was probably letting them know.
Both played well.
Brown played in the NRL grand final last year and from memory was a solid player all year.
If he didn't drop that catch you could argue that he almost didn't make any other errors.
You cannot say for sure Holmes would have scored that try.
I am fine with Holmes getting a shot though.
At the same time I can easily see why a coach would select a bloke who scored more try's than anyone else in our team for the last two years running.
Barba was atrocious compared to Brown but do we drop him ?
Wade was probably more costly too...drop him?
^^^^^Agree^^^^^
It's not about Brown making the mistake or not scoring the try. It's the fact he got picked to begin with. We already know what he is like as a player. Holmes deserves his crack now. Not next week. Not next year. He won't get it, he'll leave and then everyone will be whinging.
