he was wasted space. probably a bit rusty, and taking a cautious approach. needs time to work with the wingers.

I still don't unserstand why they needed to bring him over when we already have plenty of great centres in Australia. Or was he already back here when he was selected?

Didn't get enough ball, but i spose everyone wants a scapegoat, and as he seems unpopular already, i expect everyone to jump on the bandwagon

What exactly did he do wrong? He looked dangerous every time they went that way, but Australia loaded their left wing, looking in desperation for Inglis all the time.

Lyon saved a couple of tries, particularly when he came into the middle to defuse Long's grubber that Peacock was salivating over.

Don't worry about Lyon, he's one of the finest players in the world and he'll show that in the NRL next season.

He shouldn't have been selected.

He let that try in when he came up too early.

King or Hodges should have been there.

Lyon is unpopular and everyone wants a scapegoat, so do the math

Imo the Aussie that had a shcoker was Hornby, but its hardly his fault, a makeshift half shouldn't start there in test footy

He was caught way out of the line and gifted GB their first try.

Lockyer was skinned alive for that one. Not sure Lyon was to blame as they both swallowed the dummy.

That was alllllllll Lyon.
He came out of the line and created the hole for which Long ran thorugh.
Poor read from Lyon.

Lyon was well out of position when the Brits got the first try, but when he had the ball he did nothing wrong. He did well to get the ball to Tate a few times, he was shifted from one side of the field to the other at least once during the Test, as mentioned he did save Australia from a few difficult situations, and I would still say that he was too quiet today. Australia didn't lose the Test because of Lyon. Hornby, Tate, Thaiday (not enough minutes), Gas (same problem) were all far more at fault - not to mention Ricky Stuart.

Lyon had an ordinary game, but was far from a disgrace. Looks like Gas will be out of action for a bit, so Lyon should hold his position as Hodges comes back into the side. Tate = gone, King = back as well as Hornby = gone (or at best, bench) and Thurston = back should be the only backline changes.
