I don't want any of our players to rip his head off cos they'd get suspended and it wouldn't be worth it .... I just want him hammered hard and often and to see him plucking parra stadium grass out of his teeth ala Tezza

Well, legally rip his head off, then.

But in reality, I don't think any of the players would be after him.

It would only be the fans.
I agree. There will only be eight players left at the club who actually played alongside Jamie in first grade:
Nathan Hindmarsh
Eric Grothe
Nathan Cayless
PJ Marsh (was already gone when Jamie left)
Luke Burt
Daniel Wagon
Michael Vella
Aaron Cannings (but only just)

Of these I would expect only the first four or five to be guaranteed first grade starters when we play them? Hindy should get a chance to catch up with him at Tri-Nations training. I'm sure the guys will want to get a win up over Manly anyway, but I'm not sure any of them will be that motivated to deviate from the game plan go looking for Jamie to sort him out.

The crowd noise will be massive, but if he and his team managed to block out the largely pro-Hull crowd noise of 72,000 at Old Trafford (the noisiest game I've ever been to) to still concentrate and win then he'll deal with a hostile 20,000 at Parra. All the crowd abuse will just double up on itself and the noise will be easier for him to ignore.

Rated as the best centre in the game before joining the Super League, Lyon played an increasing amount of football at five-eighth during his English stint.

Some great reporting there:? He played two games at most at five eighth in 2 years.

I think you all need to stop "hating" Lyon, I remember we did this a few years ago when Gary Connolly left Saints to join Wigan and it got us nowhere.

It makes more sense surely to support the players at your club than worry about players that do not.

I support the players at our club with a passion and have just enough spare passion to hate Judas as well. Makes plenty of sense to me. :D

Jamie Lyon isn't just a Wade McKinnon or a Chad Robinson...

No disrespect to those guys who have served our club brilliantly over the years...But Jamie Lyon is the world's best centre, and was the idol of thousands of Parramatta Eels fans - most of which, I'm assuming, were children...

And he just spat on our club, spat on our legacy...And walked dout, without ever offering a legitimate explanation as to why he behaved so appallingly.

f**k him - but I don't think it's unreasonable to hate him.

If the feeling in this thread is typical of what ALL Parra fans feel, I would suspect that he won't much enjoy his return to Parramatta Stadium.
Nor should he. Frankly, I can't wait.

My Dad is 70. He's a kind old man who has supported the Eels since the 50's. He gives everyone a fair go and tends to forgive rather than get angry.

On the subject of Jamie - he says "F*ck him ! Lets burn the bastard !"

Fitzgerald on Lyon today.

Regarding his statement that he did the right thing at the time and had no regrets.

Told Lyon had no regrets, Fitzgerald said: "That typifies his general attitude. I don't think that would be well accepted by his former Parramatta teammates."

Regarding the possible hostile reception from Parra fans.

Fitzgerald said: "I'd agree that he will receive such a reception."
