No link but the basic gist of the story is he just doesn't like Sydney. He handled it for as long as he could but in the end he wanted to be back in Wee Waa. There are two articles and some other big ones on Smith and the Eels including one on HJ as well.

Another swipe at the Hadley Circuis.

Does any one have a link, cause I couldn't be bothered to go and buy it.

Do what I do, read it in the store every week :D

It will be interesting to see what Lyon says, hopefully it will stop these rumours, Hadley can say anything he like, but let's face it, if it comes from Jamie's mouth himself then how can Hadley argue.

I just don't know what to believe in hte whole Jamie Lyon thing....one days its black, then its white, then black again.

But if he has left cos of a problem with Smith, then he is being a sook...I don't think just up and leaving mid-contract (not even mid - start-contract is more appropriate) is the best way to make a point.

Do these guys who hate Smithy so much stand up and talk to him?....what's the worst that can happen if they approach Smithy? - dropped to reggies for no apparent reason - don't you think that would make a bigger statement than running off??? - if Lyon was forced to play reggies, the world of Parra fans would go nuts - there'd be a far bigger backlash than just waving goodbye.

If Jamie wants to play for those Manly tossas well just let him f*&king go. Our club is bigger and better than any player. It may take a few years but we will find another Lyon who WANTS to play for our great club. See ya Jamie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

you hsve to ask though why would a player be so unhappy-the coachs name has been specifically mentioned by Jamie in that letter- yuo need to bo very angry and disheartened to go to this extent-especially now we know he likes to play footy professionally still with Manly--Smithy must have given him the rounds of the kitchen after the bulldogs loss--he went too far and probably made him feel like nothing and ruubed it in.
I know Andrew Ryan and I.Hindmarsh have privately said that Smithy is too rigid and did not give them confidence and in fact made them cry on occasions-if this is true Smithy has got to learn the players will only respect you if they like you and think your fair and reasonable- this is the question-What made Jamie leave suddenly after tough preseason training and good trial results?Smithy deep down in his heart would be the only one who could know, but im sure no players willcome out-but Smithy has got a Warren Ryan reputation!

The ACT Brumbies didn't like their coach eithert, but they had enough professionalism to get them thru.

Don't even think about quoting that situation.

Firstly, the players didn't like their coach.
Secondly, the players were brave enough to stand up against that.
Thirdly, the Brumbies didn't renew the contract of their coach.

And.....HE WAS SUCCESSFUL.

Maybe some lessons could be learnt from the professionalism of the Brumbies.

Two Super 12's Competitions.

THIS IS A F***IN BUSINESS.

Suity

If professional means letting the players run a club, then I'll take amateurism any day. The Brumbies board appears weak as and the senior players with a gripe couldn't handle younger players threatening their positions. Bunch of whining brats if you ask me - anything but professional.
