Maloney Broken Hand

Bummer eh!!!
Seriously with Jack Birds 2017 form and dismal effort vs the tits its a massive no from me.
Segway to start at hooker, Nu to 5/8, Paulo on the bench, plenty of flexibility there. Depending on opposition and game wouldn't mind Wade having an occasional crack.

This is exactly the sort of challenge Bird will want. He has the opportunity to show the Donks that there is more to his game than centre. Reckon he'll relish it and step up. Im not sure how far Nu will kick on tbh. He tried hard last night and did very little wrong but just didn't have that quality that i'd hoped he would. Seggy on the other hand looked dangerous every time he got the ball. Capes was solid enough to earn his spot. Its JB 5/8, Seggy starting 9, Capes in the centres. Paulo on bench.

Bird is the obvious choice but that means most ofnthe kicking falls to Chad and Wade.

Bird at Five Eight makes no sense. He can't kick or organise players around him. After developing a case of dickie fingers this season, the last thing I'd want to see is him ball playing out there.
Nu Brown has played there this season, he wasn't flashy but can do the job until our CHIEF play maker returns.

Bird had the chance to play five eighth last week and stunk up the joint. Didn't rise to the challenge at all.

Stay bored in the centres young fella and the grown ups get on with B2B.

Last week , in the bog ?

Yeah I don't think you write them off on something like that.

If it was Townsend out, bird could play 6 & Maloney move to 7.

Won't work with Bird as Townsend's assistant though, he needs someone with more creativity.

I'm not knocking Chad, I'm a big fan & I reckon some in here way under appreciate him, but I think he needs a creative type player there to allow him to play his best.

Why not? He got the chance to play his prreferred position and was shit. The argument was put forward that will rise to the challenge playing five eighth. Had a chance and did poorly.

Granted, most of the others were shit too. However Bird's one on one missed tackle off a scrum and running sideways in the wet doesn't provide any confidence that he can do the job.

Bird's output this season is ordinary. Top 5 for errors, only 2 tries scored but he is a big game player....

Hes a talented player , you might not win a comp with bird at 5/8 but I know you won't with nu at 5/8

Flanno & Gal's comments about Bird (& his injury) at the end of the press conference were interesting.

Seems like they like Bird but jokingly think he's a bit precious.

Our whole backrow has played 5/8 before, who know what Flanno will go with.

I would play Paulo there, a big body who is a ball player, remembering now that CT does most of the long distance kicking, its the short kicking game we will need to work on, that where Paulo, Nu Brown, Seggy when comes on, Lewis, Graham & Leutele all can do, the key here is everyone has to be ready, for the defence it might be hard to defend from, more grubbers into the ingoal, and no bombs
